Will the 360's price drop once the PS3 comes out?

I'm planning on eventually getting a 360, but I would like to wait for the first price drop. Does anyone have any information on when the first price cut may occur. Thanks.

I expect the 360 will drop in price around March 2007. A price drop the day Gears of War drops would be pretty huge though.

Its probably still over a year away. Unless 360 sales slow down considerably after the launch of the PS3 I doubt there will be one until at least the Fall of 2007.

Yea with the PS3 price so high the 360 is looking cheap comared to it so it won't be coming any time soon. Had it been the same price then maybe.

I am going to go different on this, I think there is going to be a price drop soon unless May sales where an anomoly. April sales is what they need to average to make that 10 million worldwide installed base by the PS3 launch, they won't make it on May averages. Summer is typically slow too, so I think MS will make a drop in the next couple months to spike sales, just like they did with the first Xbox.

There is only something like 3.6 million worldwide as of June 1st. Unless they drop the price, no way they make 10 million by the end of the year, much less by the launch of the PS3.

That's when the cheaper internals will start picking up with allowing them to lose less.

I would drop it personally, if only $50. The cheaper it is around PS3 time, the more people they'll pull away from Sony's market. You wouldn't believe how many people would see $50 or $100 less as enough to get a 360.

I truly believe that the 360 will dominate the PS3 when it's all said and done, but with a price drop 4-6 weeks before the PS3 comes out, I think it could speed the process along.

I got a 360 and expect it today. However if I had to wait to see a 50.00 price drop would be great. I think they should just make the premium system and drop 50.00. One great box at a great price.

I don't expect a price drop until after both the PS3 and Wii come out. If the 360 is still selling strong once both of those come out, why in the world would they drop their price? It would be a bad business decision.
