Re: Microsoft Announces X06
I wonder what they will be? It seems like they are never that large or shocking.
Will there be demos and the like released during this time similar to how it was during E3? If so, I could see a Gears of War demo being made available.Comment

Re: Microsoft Announces X06
You can expect new IP's and the game lineup over the next year to be shown. Demos and trailers to be put up on the Marketplace. XBLA titles to be shown, including a previously unannounced game from a "major franchise" making its way into Marketplace for the first time. Details and pricing on upcoming accessories. And more.

I don't see any way we could do a demo before the game comes out. We've said that before." explained Rein.
"Demos take a long time to create and polish and we can't afford to get derailled like that if we want to have the game in stores by Thanksgiving. Given a choice of the game this year or a demo this year and the game next year I'm sure every one of you would rather have the game this year because you're already planning to buy it. No idea if we'll do a demo or not after the game ships."

Eurogamer is reporting that Microsoft has secured Exclusive Rights to Residental Evil 5
Speculation over the destination of Capcom's latest Resident Evil horror blockbuster has been reignited, with Xbox Japan boss Takashi Sensui refusing to deny fresh rumours that Microsoft has snatched exclusivity for the game.
The first next-gen instalment in Capcom's lucrative zombie franchise, which was announced for both PS3 and 360 last year, was conspicuous by its complete absence from last week's pivotal Tokyo Game Show, despite being pencilled in for a release by March 2007 according to the Japanese company's own fiscal reports.
Industry chatter at the Tokyo event claimed Resident Evil's no-show is owing to Microsoft tying up a shock exclusivity deal for 360, with an announcement due at the US firm's X06 event in Barcelona next week.

Speaking exclusively to GamesIndustry.biz at TGS 2006, Xbox boss Sensui refused to pour cold water on the rumour when questioned, stating that it had already been announced for Xbox 360 and adding, somewhat enigmatically: "All I can say is we are very good friends with Mr Inafune [the game's producer]."
Capcom, for its part, has not made any suggestion that Resident Evil 5's original status as a PS3 and Xbox 360 title has changed. But the former Sony stalwart has been forging increasingly close ties with Microsoft. Survival-horror romp Dead Rising, a 360-exclusive, recently released to great success in Europe, and a further hotly-tipped Xbox-only title, Lost Planet, is due in January. Capcom is also currently working on a separate Resident Evil title, Umbrella Chronicles, exclusively for Nintendo's Wii system.
Should the rumours prove to be of substance, the securing of 360 exclusivity for Resident Evil 5 would clearly be a massive coup for Microsoft. The series commands a huge global fanbase which would boost its console's appeal in all territories.
Industry watchers today said the onus was now on Capcom to clarify the status of the title in light of the current speculation. A spokesperson for the Japanese publisher was unavailable for comment.Comment

Wow, could be great news for the 360. Any change that it is just a timed exclusive though?Comment

Resident 5 exclusive denied
Tuesday 26-Sep-2006 11:02 AM Rumours from Japan that Resi 5 will be 360 exclusive have been shot down by Capcom
Word from Japan had suggested that Resident Evil 5 will be exclusive to Xbox 360 for a year but that's not the case, Capcom tells us this morning...
"Resident Evil 5 will release on PS3 and Xbox 360 as announced. There a no plans for an exclusive with the game", a spokesperson from the company told us.
They went on to add that it's still very early days for the sequel, which means, unfortunately, it's likely to be some considerable time before anything of the project is seen outside of Capcom HQ.
Anticipation surrounding Resi 5 is GARGANTUAN thanks to Capcom's incredible reinvention of the series with Resident Evil 4. We will, of course, bring you further news on Resident Evil 5 as and when we get it.AKA DEEJAY8595Comment

Re: Microsoft Announces X06
my thoughts exactly. I could personally care less about the RE franchise, but I know how popular it is and even if its a timed exclusive or even exclusive content (i.e. GTA 4), that would be a huge deal for MS.PS4: aBayBates

Re: Microsoft Announces X06
It just started, and from one site I read, they just showed a Halo 3 trailer, and the game is aiming for 50-64 people online at a time! OMG! I have nothing to validate if that is true or not though.Comment

Re: Microsoft Announces X06
Well, that probably completely debunks the Halo 3 thing then..LOLComment
