PS3 loses another exclusive; UT2K7 announced for Xbox360.

Midway’s CEO David Zucker talks about the company’s plans to introduce new IP through established media celebrities and creatives like John Woo, Vin Diesel, and the Rock.
{mosimabe}Q: "Tell us about your biggest games here at E3."

A: "Stranglehold is one of our first next-generation titles and it is really coming together well. We actually have a separate theater for that at the show. It’s our PlayStation 3 launch title as well as being for Xbox 360."

"It has phenomenal destructibility, meaning that you can shoot up the place in style—it’s an incredible experience. We also have the potential for stunt play—the sort of slow-motion jump and shoot that’s never been done before in this way. This is one of the breakthrough games on the next-generation systems. You can really see what the new boxes are capable of—this much interaction with the environment has never been achieved before."

"Of course we’ll have Mortal Kombat Armageddon—the game to end all Mortal Kombats—you’ll be able to create a fighter in that game as well as [play as] every single character ever from the Mortal Kombat series."

"There’s also Unreal Tournament 2007 for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Epic’s latest is mind-blowing, and I believe one of the stars of the show."

I've never been a big fan of the UT series after the first game back in the late 90's.

This news was expected as well, third party pubs with their multiplatform games.

I don't think it ever was just going to be on the PS3, as far as consoles go. I've always had a feeling that it just wasn't officially announced or no media was shown of the 360 version, because of Gears of War.

          Next Gen's article May 5th

          MAY 12th

Mark didn't say anything new about the release date or reveal any huge new Unreal Engine deals, so it's not like we missed out on anything. The only "newsworthy" piece was that (despite what might be listed on Xbox.com) there are no plans for a 360 port of UT 2007. I even asked something along the lines of "hey, I read on beyond unreal that there's plans to port Ut2007 to the 360." He was like, huh? Turns out that's not the case. He didn't rule out the possiblity of one someday, but it's just not in the cards now.

I was/am a HUGE fan of the original UT and UT 2004 (and even liked the Xbox versions a bit) but 2007 looks pretty crappy to me.

It looks like a cross between Tribes and Quake, rather than Unreal.

Too many big-*** vehicles and some guns looks like tanks on the guys arms.

It's really losing the special touches that made the series unique and addictive.
