Thinking about buying a dreamcast.
I used to have a kick a$$ time with my brothers dreamcast until he sold it a few years ago, and i've recently had the urge to play some of the old games like WSB 2K2 and Crazy Taxi, but I don't know if the games will be any fun know. What do you guys think?Tags: None -

Re: Thinking about buying a dreamcast.
Do it. I bought a mint condition black one about a year ago off of eBay for $25. Been getting a kick out of one game I haven't played before--Space Channel 5. But I have Ferrari 360 Challenge, NBA 2K, Lemans (something), and I plan on getting Crazy Taxi, that speedboat game (can't remember right now), and Rayman.Comment

Re: Thinking about buying a dreamcast.
I still play my Dreamcast along with my 360.
Virtua Tennis 1 and 2 can still be fun in multiplayer, Hydro Thunder still hasn't been matched on any console, Crazy Taxi 1 and 2 are fun, the original Shenmue, Soul Calibur, Street Fighter 3... the list goes on.
Plus, it's great to have the original NBA and NFL 2K's in your collection.
I'm never gonna get rid of my DC.Comment

Re: Thinking about buying a dreamcast.
i still have my DC. it absolutely broke my heart when they pulled the plug on the system. still pop in a game here and there. i've got:
NBA2k2
NFL2k2
V. Tennis 2
SW Jedi Battle
Toy Story 2 (for my lil' girl...really)
Crazy Taxi 2
Dynomite Cop
looking to get Hydro Thunder, Channel 5, and House of the Dead if i can find them...I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...Comment

I just feel like SEGA bowed out way too quick on this system and I wish they would have given it 1 more year at the time. I know SEGA was losing money in the console business since some mistakes during the Genesis years with those crazy add-ons, but it was the SEGA Saturn which really did them in.
If SEGA wasn't in a hurry at the time to release the Saturn 6 months before the Playstation 1 came out, maybe they would have had more support from developers + it didn't help that the system had 3 CPU Cores that at the time developers found very difficult to program for.
I feel in recent years that SEGA since going the software route hasn't had a really big title release. I'm hoping they turn things around and can get a major title release that will make them the software giant they should be.
When they have games like Nights, Burning Rangers, Shenmue, Panzer Dragoon, and Shinning Force under lock & key than it permits them from striking gold. Even Virtua Fighter and Sonic which were both 2 titles that people always went ga-ga over have somewhat fallen off the face of this earth. There has been too many mediocre Sonic titles.
Great, Great system. My personal favorites on the system were
Powerstone 1 & 2
Soul Calibur
Hydro Thunder
Resident Evil: CV
NFL 2K series
NBA 2K series
Sonic Adventure
Marvel vs Capcom 1 & 2
Sega Bass Fishing 1 & 2
Shenmue
+ Many More Excellent Titles
I had a friend that was close to owning every single US released DC game.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 06-24-2006, 05:15 PM.Comment
