Does Microsoft say anything about the broken system?

I mean I just got one a couple of weeks ago and everytime I come on here theres another person that the box went dead. Everytime I turn it on I'm worried and I can't enjoy it. Will mircrosoft come with a solution???

Only like 5% of the systems do break down, which is common in every system release. I'd be shocked if this doesn't happen in the PS3 aswell.

What do you want them to say? THey are doing something about it, they are taking it in seeing if they can fix if not, you get a new one.

Bingo. I know it sucks for those that have problems, but the % overall isn't that large and I don't think this is an issue.

Mine was one of the ones that broke down a few weeks ago. No worries then, and no worries now. MS made good and replacd it, and I've purchased a 2 year warranty with my new one. This is the usual console launch, something like 3-5 percent are defective, that's about 95+ percent that are just fine.

They have pretty much repaired replaced all units (even some without the extended warranty). So until these batches of bad consoles get through thier solution has been GREAT customer support, IMO.

Re: Does Microsoft say anything about the broken system?

I'm on my second system. Mine died after six months. I have to honestly say that I get nervous everytime I turn on my 360. The death of my first 360 was such a traumatic experience... I can't seem to forget it.

Actually, my experience with XBOX customer service was not all GREAT. Maybe their customer support has a 5% chance of being shoddy as well. On my first call, they told me my 360 was out of warranty and I'd have to pay $130 to have it fixed. I find out on the different boards that they extended the warranty another 90 days for launch systems - and my 360 just made it within that extension period. I called back and confirmed with the CSR that the warranty had indeed been extended and it was then that they accepted my 360 as a warranty repair. Why the heck didn't they tell me this the first time I called.

From then on, everything went fine. They shipped me the coffin, I shipped them back the defect, and they shipped me a refurb within a couple of days. I guess, if there is no doubt that your system is within warranty, your experience will be alot smoother than mine.

Sorry you got so so service but for us (my nephews): Thier system was out of warranty and after talking to CSR they gladly accepted it and sent out a box. They had thier system back in about 8-10 days.
