What am i doing wrong here? (xbox360 connect to new hdtv)

ok, what am i doing wrong her guys....

    I just got this: http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/produ...cfkmdffhdfgo.0

Its the LG 23LX1RV.....just alittle something for my room.....im getting good HD picture for my cable....but when i try and hook it up to my xbox 360, the picture is in black and white...also, when i switch to the component the 360 is on (example: component 1 is the cable box, component 2 is the xbox) it always says "out of range", instead of the normal 1080i that I should be seeing....I made sure the blue and the green cords were in the correct slots but still no luck.....like i said, i get HD fine from my cable box...i even tried hooking up the 360 thru the same hookups where i had my cable (there are 2 hdav hookups in the back/side of the tv), but no luck for the 360 (yes, i remembered to switch to HDTV on the xbox cord). any help?

Do you have the button switched to HDTV on the HDTV cables for the 360?

When you say "I made sure the blue and the green cords were in the correct slots but still no luck"

Did you mean to say red, blue & green cable? You might want to make sure your A/V Cable is plugged tightly into the back of your 360.

You also might want to check that extra Component Input on your TV, by pluggung your cable into it. It might be the Input on the TV..

No, there's a switch on the cables that say HDTV or SDTV or something like that. You need that clicked to HDTV.

yes, i meant red, blue & green....i only said blue and green because i had problems with my cable box....come to find out I had just interchanged the blue and green cables in the wrong slots (the blue looked like green to me at the time )

DOH!! You got it, thats good. Another thing to watch for is making sure you have the AV cable plugged into the back of your 360. When I first bought mine, I didn't and got red flashing lights. Scared the crap out of me.

oops, i hope i didn't mislead anybody...i still have the problem....I was referring to when i had problems with my CABLE BOX, that's when i interchanged the cables. So this time i MADE SURE that I didn't do that again. Guess I should start using periods at the end of my sentences. I have a bad habit of using "........" . But yeah, still no luck. All I get is a "Out of range" message on my TV whenever I switch the switch on the xbox cables from TV to HDTV. When the switch is on 'TV', the picture is in black and white. When I switch it to "HDTV", I get no picture at all, just that out of range message.

How about in the system settings? Did you change your system settings to HDTV 1080i/720p?

Go to the last blade after you boot your 360(NO GAME INSIDE) you shouLd see a setting(VIDEO) in that setting is where you make the change

I'm at work too, so I can't give you the exact instructions... but it's under the system blade where you can change all settings, manage memory, etc.
