Titan Quest
I picked this title up not because of Diablo, but because IGN(I believe) hyped this as a God of War for the PC. The graphics and Diablo style gameply are awesome but the lack of special moves, story elements and for the first few hours any exciting swords has me a little bored. The game itself offers excellent Diablo gameplay and I love the way it looks. They have really built themselves a heck of an engine (albeit a buggy stuttering one no matter what PC/Video card you have). Has anyone else given this game whirl?DON'T PANICTags: None -
Re: Titan Quest
I haven't had any stuttering, and special moves depends on your class/skill selection. Some classes have lots of specials, whereas others have base defense, etc. I had a pair of lightning swords by level 7 as a dual-wielding warrior, so I don't know.
I know I didn't have anything terribly exciting early on in Diablo 2, either, though. I'm loving the game. -

I have used the warrior and hunter skills (you get a second one at level 8) but the animation does not change for attacks. I wouldn't mind that as much if they interjected more story. I am also not certain why people in Greece are speeking with a Russian accent.Comment

Re: Titan Quest
Updated impressions: After getting past some of the false bull from the major site previews, I am having a blast. The game reminds me more of Sacred than Diablo. As you level-up you get access to more abilities and after level 8 you can choose a second set of skills. Also, there is a wide variety of monsters in the game which is always nice in a hack and slash. I still wish they embelished the stoy more and some of the voice acting is questionable to say the least. Still the game is fun and the graphics engine is superb (beautiful environments). I have a mid rig I guess with an AMD 64, 2800, 1 gig ram and a Geforce 6800 128mb (256 interface) and I play 1024 with medium textures and high settings.DON'T PANICComment

Re: Titan Quest
Steam had this on sale sometime over the last month and picked it up on the cheap. What a great Action-RTS. The graphics for it are amazing and show us what a more realistic 3D looking Action-RTS 'should' look like versus the cartoonish Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2.
Gameplay is a bit slower than both of the others, but graphic quality is topnotch. Trees blow in the wind, grass moves as you go through it and parts properly based on the direction you are moving. Grass actually moves / flattens for both players and creatures, which is impressive. Bodies don't disappear so the battlefield looks like an actual battlefield. Footprints are left in sand with very long lifetimes (never saw footprints disappear), and water ripples as you walk through it. Just amazing the level of detail to the environment they provided. If using a bow, and a tree is in the way, the arrow will actually stick in the tree! This is the level of detail I'd expect from the next generation of Action-RTS games, and what Diablo 3 failed to deliver on almost any level.Comment
