Street fighter to me is the best especially third strike on the dreamcast which is easily the best street fighter in terms of graphics characters and music plus backgrounds and gameplay. I also really liked when the 4 new challengers appeared along with Akuma.
I actually loved the original soul blade on the ps1 but that series has continually gone down in terms of gameplay options as new sequels came out but has definitely gone up in graphics. In my opinon soul blade (original on ps1) is the best one of that series but soulcaliber on the dreamcast was also very good.
Tekken 2 and Tekken 5 are obviously the 2 best 3d fighting games I have played, music, stories, characters, moves, graphics. It goes on and on.
Never liked virtual fighter, its nice to look at but it takes just too much work to become decent with a character. Never really liked MK either or SNK or Battle Arena Toshinden.
So out of Soul blade/soul caliber, street fighter 3 third strike/street fighter 2 new challengers, tekken2/5 i'd have to go with the soul blade/soul caliber combo especially because of soulblade. Soulblade is the best fighting game I have ever played. However the streetfighter "series" is easily better than the soulblade/caliber series as long as you don't count EX (3d street fighter).
