Selling My Xbox

If this isn't the right place for this thread, could a mod please move it. I'm not real sure but I figured I'd post here.

Anyways, I've decided I was going to sell my Xbox and games on Ebay very soon, because my birthday is coming up and with what I get for my Xbox and what I get for my birthday, I plan on buying an Xbox360 before NCAA Football 2007 comes out.

So my questions are:

Should I sell on Ebay to begin with?

For those that have sold, how was your experience? I've never sold anything, so I don't know how easy or difficult it is to put on ebay.

Anything I should look out for when selling?

How much should I be expecting to get with what I have, which is an Xbox (1 year old), 1 controller, NCAA Football 2006, Madden 2006, College Hoops 2k6, MVP Baseball 2005, and NHL 2k6.

Anything other advice you guys might have to offer?

I had a great experience with www.craigslist.com. It requires a little more legwork as it is local and you usually have to meet someone. I got $125 for my Xbox and March Madness 2005. I can't really comment on Ebay though. Good luck!

Yep...They are awful on this site if you are selling electronics. I usually have a little fun with them though. That is why I always do cash only and meet at a visible place like a metro stop.

Put some Polk Audio speakers on Craigslist Saturday morning, received a call Sunday. Sold them to the guy yesterday. I'm starting to like CL, it's fast and free. Just meet in a public place.

EB Games gave me $100 CDN for my XBox. Easy as pie and I bought my 360 right on the spot.

Not sure if that deal is going on in the states but worth to check it out.

Here in the US EBGames is giving an extra $20 on all system trades.

and be with someone or look intimidating. meetups can be a burden and scary as well. you jsut never know.

with ebay, your looking at about 11% of your final price on ebay and paypal fees. so counter that in.


ps, does EB care if my system is modded or if the case has been opened to clean? will they check all that out?

Well, someone bought the Xbox but apparently the guy just registered today.

I'm assuming this is some kind of scam or something, where I won't get my money.

What do I do now? I mean, it sucks that I'd have to pay to relist it again.

Got 150 Canadian for XB and March Madness 2006 on Ebay.

If the guy didn't pay send him an unpaid item notice. If he doesn't respond, Ebay will refund your lisitng fees.

Meet at a neutral site. That's what I did when I picked up my 360.

Here in the US EBGames is giving an extra $20 on all system trades.

That only brings the system to $65 at the store after the $20 since the system is $45, you could get a cool $100 on ebay.

That's a scam man, place this person on your ignore list + email [email protected] with this email. Ask them to give back the money on your fees and then relist.

Yeah, I was reading up on the UPI's.

This sucks, considering this was the first time I placed something on Ebay.

Oh well, I guess I'll relist later on today.
