I wonder how long until Netflix either merges with GF or they add a gaming section that works as well as their movies.

 Re: Gamefly Questions?

I've done four seperate gaming services over the last 2 years:

It started with GPlay, which when I signed up was a completely different company, whose name I now forget. Anyway, once GPlay bought out the company the shipping times doubled and I quickly cancelled. This was over a year ago now though so the service may have improved.

Then I moved on to Gamerang. I loved this service at first because it had the best pricing structure as well as a wide selection of games with very little wait time. I was with them for over a year, and cancelled about a month ago. My experience was almost identical to TCrouch's experience with Gamefly. In creasingly poor turn-around time coupled with absolutely horrible customer service. I would e-mail a complaint (such as having mailed out a game two weeks ago and they hadn't received it yet) and not receive a response for over a week. Also, they keep promising updates to the website, but no changes or improvements ever seem to occur.

While still subscribed to Gamerang, I tried out Gamelender around the time I bought my 360. This was by far the worst service I've used. The biggest problem was they essentially had nothing in stock, yet said everything was in "short wait" status. I actually never even received all three games in the 3-game plan over the month that I was with them.

About 3 months ago, after cancelling Gamelender, I joined Gamefly. The experience has been fantastic, mostly due to the FastShip program they run. I'd say 90% of the games I rent get logged in for FastShip, and the turnaround time for me (KY) is at most 5 business days, but usually 3. I just increased my subscription to 4 games after cancelling Gamerang, and I absolutely love the incentives they throw in. They also have the most complete website of all the services I've used.

 Anyway, hope this helps.Comment

 Re: Gamefly Questions?

For those who spend $10/month on this, do you find yourself spending less on gaming over the year? The way I figure is $120 a year is 2 games, I generally don't buy a lot of games but have games I would play. Renting in my area isn't an option really, as there is no Blockbuster or Hollywood video anywhere around here.Comment

Since 360 launch, the only games I've bought are, NBA 2K6, GRAW, Oblivion, College Hoops, and Kameo. Yet i've played so many more of the launch games. I'd say it has saved me A LOT of money.Originally posted by MassNoleFor those who spend $10/month on this, do you find yourself spending less on gaming over the year? I wish. The shipping facility for Netflix is 15 minutes away from where I live.Originally posted by dQbellI wonder how long until Netflix either merges with GF or they add a gaming section that works as well as their movies.Comment
