    EA/ESPN Integration Update

At EA Studio Showcase, the next level of ESPN integration was displayed in NBA Live 07 for the Xbox 360, and it is finally something worth all the cash EA paid for this 15 year partnership. When online, not only will you have the ESPN ticker at the bottom of the screen updating you on the latest news and scores, but you will be able to listen to streaming podcasts of ESPN Radio, including Mike & Mike and The Dan Patrick Show.

    But that's only the beginning.

ESPN Original Programming is also in the mix, enabling you to back out of your game and watch shows like the latest Pardon the Interruption, all within NBA Live.

Play your Dynasty, watch for the big news to hit the ticker, then after your game check out Tony Kornheiser and Mike Wilbon as they debate the hot topic, only to go right back into your season.

This is what living a next-gen sports lifestyle is all about.

And it all starts with NBA Live 07.

    PTI integration sounds cool.

Now what about it being IN the game?
Where are the 2k sports halftime/post game shows that were in the last gen?

I can't understand that either how there are no halftime/post game shows either from EA.

        ********.

I could turn to ESPN for the same thing.

EDIT: Does EA seriously think we're stupid enough to eat this up as great ESPN integration?

Lmao that's exactly what I was thinking. I don't see how this is cool or useful at all.

            IGN is easily excited.

I thought better gameplay and more features was what the "next-gen sports lifestyle" is all about, but I guess I was wrong! Oh well, I guess playing my video game so I can watch TV within the game makes enough sense to me.

Is EA really that clueless as to what sports videogamers want?

Thank you, this is what we need from the 900 hundred pound Gorilla. Instead they take the easy way out and let you watch ESPN shows live. Thanks EA it never occured to me that I can pause the game and flip on ESPN.

What an absolute waste of a License. And it's no wonder the 2K guys thought EA bought the ESPN rights just to keep 2K from using it in their usually superior Sports titles. We need competition in this industry or it's going to wither away.

                    Sorry for the rant guys.

                      Re: EA/ESPN Integration Update

Thanks for the update on the EA/ESPN license. This has been discussed (not exact story) to death in the NCAA forums and it only turns into a flame war. This can be brought back to life closer to the actual sports games that contain the ESPN info when they are relaesed. It's not non-sports gaming, so for now, this is locked.
