Question about XBox 360
I have yet to purchase one, and I haven't done too much research as to the accessories. Lately I've been hearing alot about the transfer kit. What is this? Is it affiliated with the XBox? Finally...do you recommend I get one?

Re: Question about XBox 360
Originally posted by candyman56Yes, you should get the 360. It's awesome and the transfer kit is for transfering game saves from the PC to 360. It's only $14.99 for the Transfer Kit, but you need a memory card for $40.
The memory card at 40 bucks, all though a bit steep, is a nice thing to have.
For instance, some of the roster saves on NHL 2k6 were curropting the hard drive, but if you saved them on the memory card, all you had to lose was memory card data.
The transfer kit is pretty easy to use and nice to have.
As for the system it's self.
It's now my 2nd favorite system behind the Sega Dreamcast.
There's always the fear of a system dying, especailly now how high end the electronics part is. That's why getting a warrenty through a retailer or the one through microsoft (which is a great deal as well) is a MUST. At least it gives you some piece of mind.
As for a wired contoller, this may sound nuts, but the Game Pro Pad from Madcatz/Gameshark is remarkeably good. It earned a 9/10 from TeamXBox and IGN to name a few...
Also if you go the wirless route, the Microsoft or Nyko battery charger is a really good thing to get. The contoller that ships with the system only uses regular batters. If you want to get rechargable ones you have to buy them seperately or with the charge kit (takes about 2hrs to charge and has 2 slots on it) or the play & charge.
XBox Live, even with a silver memembership is great.... just being able to download game trailers, demos, and those arcade games is awesome. I have a membership and I don't play that much head to head, but it's still worth the 50 bucks a year having such a stable enviroment. XBox Live on the X1 was nice, but how the 360 has it laid out, it's a day and night difference.
That's that... if you have any more questions, as away.BeyondMediaOnline.comComment
