        Pretty good.

Overall though, the 360 software sales are very impressive. The console has a 4.35:1 tie-in ratio too.

Roughly how many units does a title have to sell in order to be considered successful? I know the budget to produce the game plays a big role. Any guess?

For the average publisher 150k. For someone like EA 400k. Like Flaw said those numbers are not bad at all in fact some are rather impressive given the fact that there are roughly 4 million Xbox360 worldwide.

Agreed, most publishers are happy with 150,000 units sold.

Now EA is a different beast. Since they have a lot of games that are widely distributed in more than one area, they can make some good money.

Take FIFA for instance... it sold 110 thus far in the US... if europe has even half those sales, they are in great shape.

Blaming Microsotf for the inital bad sales was more less a way to cover up that they released some half finished games in Madden, FIFA 06, and Tiger Woods. Once they droped the game prices down to 40 the sales have picked up greatly. That I've noticed from the NDP sales charts.

This system is going to have some huge numbers for their AAA games that come out. I expect Gears of War to hill the million unit mark by December- January... and I think Madden 2007 will have some strong numbers too. Us 360 owners have been showing our gaming dollars to the games that are really well done since 60 buck game tag is making people more cautious. EA and others need to realize that and do a better job with Qualtiy Control. It's eaiser said than done, but, it can be done.
