Problems with 360 controllers
Hey guys, I've been having some slight problems with both of my 360 controllers and I was wondering if any of you had any ideas on how to help fix 'em. First off, I'm not hard on my controllers, I don't toss them around or slam on them, so that's why I'm surprised that I'm having these issues. With one controller (I'm pretty sure it's from constantly clicking down the right thumbstick in Oblivion), the right thumbstick is nearly always off balance to the left. It's really only been a minor nuissance in the past, but with NCAA, the right stick controls a lot and I've been having all sorts of problems with the stick always leaning to that one side. On the other controller, some of the buttons are a little sticky. I'm not sure why. It's like they never really have the "click" feel to them when you press 'em. Anyways, I figured I'd try to open up the controllers to see if there was anything I could do, but they have custom screws. Any ideas?Tags: None -

Re: Problems with 360 controllers
The controllers sticks have potentiometers (variable resistors) which needs adjusting. I dont know how much adjusting plus that disscussion isnt wanted here. The buttons, you will need to open the controller up (A regular Philips screwdriver is required to open a wired controller, while a Torx T8H is used for a wireless), check out your buttons, make sure that the rubber which is between the button and the PCB (printed circuit board) is still intact and aligned.
I dont think any of this is considered "modding".Comment

Re: Problems with 360 controllers
Ironic cause my controller that I use most of the time started doing that crap too. When I played CH 2K6, the player would always walk towards the left. That kind of irritated me a bit cause the controllers are all new. Might give M$ a call and see if I can get that dealt with.Comment

Re: Problems with 360 controllers
You gotta find your own pictures!!!
And guys shouldnt be calling MS with every lil problem you have. When guys really have big problems, MS isnt gonna listen cuz the tedious ones ****ed it up for everyone.
Thats why receipts are giving out.Comment

Better yet, go to Walmart, buy a new one, take back your old one and get a refund.
Problem solved.
But I like my troubleshooting method better.Last edited by NYG_Meth; 07-20-2006, 11:21 AM.Comment
