Is there any point of me getting a 360 if I don't have an HDTV??

The last 6 weeks I've made a cleaning in online poker and I've got enough to purchase a 360. I hadn't even considering buying one, but NCAA '07 has got me a little interested. But as the title says, I don't have an HDTV. Is it worth it for me to drop the $$ on a 360 if I'm going to play it on a regular TV?

well I for one dont have an HDTV, just been playing on my "regular" 32 inch Sony & still see the improvements graphically on the 360 compared to the old xbox.. maybe not as stunning as HDTV, but you can certainly see the difference.

My brother has been playing NCAA 07 on his 360 on our regular TV and I cannot imagine ever playing my PS2 version ever again. Its that nice.

Congrats on your good play recently. What game and blinds/limits do you play online? Playing online I'm up and down but as they say, thats poker. I've been dabbling in the other games like stud and omaha lately after playing hold em for the last year and a half.

As far as the tv's go, I play on a Samsung 30" LCD TV and I think its much better than playing on a regular tv. The images are not bad on a regular set but once you start playing in HD and see the difference you won't want to go back. In my opinion everything is sharper, brighter, more colorful and it allows you to really see the details in the games.

You should get a 360, you will love NCAA 07 on there.

I got a 360 yesterday (well, opened it yesterday) and on my SDTV it's minimally better than the Xbox. It's better, but not all that much. However, I've seen it on my friends HD and it was the truth.

Recently, I took my 360 on vacation with me, and for the first time played it on a non-HDTV. I thought that it was going to look like crap on a standard 25" hotel room TV, but I was quite surprised; it obviously didn't look as good as it does on a HDTV, but it was definitely a considerable improvement over the original Xbox. I would definitely recommend getting one if you have the extra cash.

I'd try and get an HD set first, just because I would assume you're likely to get more use out of it and watching sporting events in HD is like an out of body experience compared to standard TV.

Just played NCAA on a regular TV and it was still nice. Not as good as a HDTV but still better than current gen. Plus the 360 is worth more than just its graphics. It is definately worth the purchase.

haha...I have a 25 inch General Electric TV.The same dudes that make stoves and refrigerators . The games look beautiful. An HDTV will only make it better.

I agree. Right now, the 360 can wait. Meaning, it certainly hasn't peaked. If you get a decent HDTV, you'll still enjoy your PS2/Xbox and by the time Fall hits, you should probably look at a 360. Not sure if you have an Xbox, but Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory is excellent on an HDTV.

Does playing in HD make a huge difference? Yes.

Is it worth it without HD? Absolutely.

As someone else mentionned, you can play on a computer monitor if you get the VGA cables. You can set your resolution as high as HDTV.

I would get the 360 first. Reason being your gonna love playing on it and then your going to keep thinking your head how much better it would be on a HDTV and you'll save up and buy one. I can't imagine not watching football in HD too.
