Re: Xploder HDTV Game Player for PlayStation 2
"Two HD plasma screens placed side-by-side for comparison between the Xploder HDTV Player and the PS2 standard output made the difference instantly recognizable, the crystal clear graphics, well-proportioned characters, crisp text within on-screen menus, detailed backgrounds, vivid colors and smooth character animation resulting in a dramatically enhanced gameplay experience."

That's definitely a plus. I may look into this the instant I get an HDTV.

Re: Xploder HDTV Game Player for PlayStation 2
i'd personally be very wary, i dunno...i mean if it was so easy to upscale like this, then Sony would have done it themselves, right? I tend to think that you'd just see a bunch of flaws that you might not have noticed before this...again, just conjecture, my basic graphical knowledge would lead me to think that making signal x use more pixels, without actually making signal x better in the programming, will just make things look bad.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

First off, never heard of the site. Second, they claim they can see the difference, then the next sentence, they say they want to see how Shadow of Collossus looks with the device. WHAT? If you just reviewed it, use the game and see...
I'm not even remotely interested in this as I already know what results your going to get with it, and they won't be impressive at all.Comment

Re: Xploder HDTV Game Player for PlayStation 2
If a game isn't developed to output HD standards, you do realize that it will look pretty jaggy on an HD TV? There's just no way to magically make it look better when it was intended for 480i.Comment

Re: Xploder HDTV Game Player for PlayStation 2
Here's a video from Digital Life showcasing the XPloder. I read elsewhere that this thing really does work from what people saw at Digital Life.
If you take a look at the track markings on the ground, they do look much better. Granted this video is kind of shoddy. I would love to get my hands on this thing, right now it can only be ordered from the UK. I hear that MadKatz is bringing it over here in the US.Last edited by CaptainZombie; 10-20-2006, 03:21 PM.Comment
