After much talk about the Xbox Live Arcade and it's recent retro distinctions, many have come to the conclusion that a new form of controls will be needed to support Xbox Live's most beloved service.

Luckily enough; Madcatz has answered this call in the form of an Xbox 360 arcade joystick, similar to those played with original arcade versions of Pacman and Galaga. The set will feature a D-Pad, the standard 360 lettered-buttons, and a rather huge joystick. All the buttons necessary for the more retro-styled XBLA are catered for, so this should be a good choice for Pacman, Galaga and Frogger lovers. However, the controller features no bumpers; meaning all you Street Fighter fans shouldn't bother with the set if you're looking for a better solution to play SF2. Another problem is it that the controller contains two widely contrasted analog sticks. Because of this, the controller cannot be used for the average retail game.

Like most MadCatz accessories, this boxed controller will cost some dough. The announced price for the retro set is $69.99; a whopping price for a few decent games of Galaga and Pacman.
