August 17, 2006 - At Microsoft's Gamefest in Seattle this week Gamasutra snagged new details on the launch of the Xbox Live Vision video camera accessory for the X360.


Although we'd already known about gesture-controlled X360 game TotemBall, this week it was revealed that when the Xbox Live Vision video camera launches in September it will ship with this title included.

TotemBall is developed by UK studios Strange Flavour and Freeverse, who previously made ToySight for the Apple iSight.

Further details on the camera's price and the exact date in September when we can expect the camera was not yet available.

IGN has plans to get our hands on a couple of Live Vision cameras soon. Look for further details on our new toy to follow.

I really can't complain about the PS3 price when this damn 360 is KILLING my pockets. Peripherals, downloads, and tons of games mean alot of OT in my immediate future. I gotta have the HD-DVD and the camera, and I'd prolly also cop a bigger HD if they make one.

For me, video chat with my friends and family over Live is worth the price of a game, and gesture-based games for the future also interests me. With the mechanics already worked out for the WII, how long before major devs start tossing those motion-based options into PS3 and 360?

Yep that's mine as well especially family chat. Also playing some poker online would be cool with camera...

Texas Hold'em is the game I am waiting for on the horizon...I think Hold'em + camera with people I know would be pretty cool

Uno uses it, and I think they said both Spades and Hearts are getting patches to use it as well.

I am sure no store in the entire state of North Carolina would sell TJ a Xbox Live camera after they take a look at him. Why do that to the good people of Xbox Live?
