            The Godfather
either NHL2k7 or NHL07 (depending on which one is better)
I would have bought the WSOP game, but since we got the free one, I'm gonna pass on that one.

NHL 07 and a basketball game for 360. 'The Godfather' is a rent first, though I'll likely just cave and buy it.

My most anticipated game doesn't drop until October though, the very last day in fact...Final Fantasy XII. Screw new 360 releases when that sucker drops. I can't wait!

Buying nothing. Saving for either a Wii or 360 -- probably a Wii -- so I'm not buying any more games for my Xbox.

                    Take care,

No hockey title, PK? That's surprising.

I'm picking up NBA2K7 and NHL2K7, and I've got a close eye on NHL07. I like what they're doing with the series this year, but I'm still worried about the AI.

Looks like NBA 2k7 will be my only purchase this month.

                          Sully:

Nada. I have zero faith in EA to make NHL 07 anything special despite the breathless PR that we've all heard before. There will be a glaring flaw, such as arcadish gameplay or the right stick moves terribly overdone, with even a lumbering defenseman like Hatcher able to whirl through the defense like Ovechkin.

Come on, it's an EA hockey game: They'll find a way to f*ck it up and make it too arcade. It's an annual ritual like the swallows returning to San Juan Capistrano.

My hockey time almost certainly will be reserved in front of the tube or on the ice with my kids this year. I love hockey too much to accept second-rate console games with flaws, and that's all EA and Take Two give us. Take Two is much closer to virtual pucks nirvana than EA, but it's not there yet.

Then again, NHL 2K7 for the Xbox is only $20, and NHL 07 is $30. So who knows?

Maybe I'll grab Eastside Hockey Manager for the PC and reverse the wrong of last year's Stanley Cup Final.

                          Take care,
                          PK

One of the NHL, looking like it could be NHL 07.
One of the NBA, want it to be Live but 2K has looked fantastic.

I remember reading somewhere that not all the features on the 360 will be on the Xbox/PS2 versions.

I would be careful before handing over your money.

I'm a huge fan of the 2K Hockey series but I'm more excitied to play NHL 07.

EA has pulled a full out blitz for their game while Take Two/Kush has done very little to hype the game.

Outside of Cinemotion, a new skating engine, and a rivarly focus in franchise mode, it looks like nothing else is new.

I'm hoping the EA NHL series turns out like the MVP series. This is Year 1 and by Year 3, you'll get an amazing game. When I first saw the screen shots, I thought they were touched up. Then I saw in game action at Gamespot and was blown away.

NHL 06 was such complete garbage they have nowhere to go but up.
