I want to pick this up by the end of the month. It looks like a much more mature GTA.

This game is nothing like GTA from the reviews. Very linear with a combo of SEGA's Shenmue and beat-em ups like Warriors.. If this game wasn't $50, I would pick it up in an instant.

This game was so successful in Japan last year, that they have announced a sequel.

I tried the demo and really liked it...except for the long loading times every time you enter a fight....and you fight often. I find that kind of mechanic interrupts the game flow and doesn't bring me into the story enough to be a keeper.

LOL the minute I saw the cover of the game and not even knowing anything about the game I thought to myself Shenmue.

Sega was defenitely selling GTA Tokyo all the way until release, most people who don't read reviews will still think that.

From the screenshots, that's what it looks like. When people see the little map on the left hand side, they think it's GTA. LOL!

I still dont know why ps2 owners dont use a HDD. I have zero loading problems with the games I put on there. It's even better than the xbox using cache space for files, since the whole game is on the HDD. Even Smackdown vs Raw 06 loads instantly. For me, this isn't a real gripe anymore.

Maybe they have the slim one and can't. I just never bought one to begin with.

Got the game today but haven't played it yet. Looks like there's lots to do from the book.

If you have a slim PS2, the HDD is almost a no go unless you do some mods to get an external drive to work.

Fighting is pretty fun so far even though there's only 3 combos right now. Love the special heat moves. Sure lives up to it's M rating. Only complaint so far is the lack of camera control, the right stick moves the map.

Goh, is this game worth purchasing? I have read some good things about it and the sequel releases in Japan 12/12/06.

Looks more like Jade Empire to me. Regardless, I still feel that Shenmue and Shenmue II are two of the greatest games ever made. I really hope they finish the trilogy one of these days.

Not sure if it's worth purchasing yet, can't say something like that 'till I finish it but the fighting is fun so far and the story is great so had I rented it I probably would've bought it. I've been intrested in it for a long time though.

Forgot to mention Sega's new intro screen is pretty cool.

Nothing like Jade Empire. It's more like Streets of Rage.

Does this game compare to the Warriors, which was another great beat em' up?
