Fall of Liberty (Finally a different WW2 game)

"upcoming PC and next-gen console shooter Fall of Liberty sees New York falling to the Nazi war machine.

Prompted by a little history-tinkering - what if the taxi accident that hobbled Winston Churchill was fatal instead, and without him there was never a Normandy landing? - you'll join events as a resistance fighter in the occupied US. The overwhelmingly powerful Nazi occupation is planning to stamp out the rebellion with a nuclear strike, so simply holding out isn't going to be an option.

It's a chance for developer Spark Unlimited - ex-Medal of Honor developer and creator of Call of Duty: Finest Hour on consoles - to blend its historical obsession with a few surprises."

I really like the angle, I just hope the graphics and gameplay are up to par.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I just found out about this game. Sounds interesting, but it's ultimately being made by Codemasters. I'd definitely enjoy this game, as it's one of those alternate history things.

To anyone who has watched the older The Twilight Zone/Outer Limits, these usually turned out pretty interesting.

Finally something semi-original in the WWII market.

                              Developer Blog

                              It Begins...
So I thought I'd put some actual use to this development blog to actually talk about developing Turning Point.

By now you should know the basic story of Turning Point: Fall of Liberty - but just in case you don't here's the short version.

The game is based on an "Alternate History" - what's that mean to you? A couple of pivotal events that occurred in our history swing the other way - i.e. Churchill dying after being struck by a cab (in real history, he survived.) Thus, no one is around to oppose Hitler in Europe. The US remains isolationist as Germany takes over the known world, they then turn to us. Clearly they've used the extra time on some serious R&D.

Take this clip for example - this is where the game picks up, you're regular "Joe Construction Worker" on top of a skyscraper when Hitler's forces attack 1953 New York. This clip is one of my favorites - snapped it up while no one was looking - take a look quick cus if the publisher sees it they're going to rip it down.

Every time I watch the video it reminds me how much I love movies. It's such a well put together shot that really brings you in and makes you really feel it (especially with the volume at max.) I love heights too because I'm terrified of them. Just imagine yourself in the 1950's working on the superstructure of a skyscraper and suddenly seeing these jets/zepplins just emerge from the clouds. We went through so many history documents, books, films, interviews, etc. that I feel like it's all real or at the very least could have been real.

PS. Sorry I have not posted in a bit, we are tightening up to go gold and I need to be at the helm the entire time. All of us on the team hope you guys really have a good time playing the game. that was something we really aimed to do for you all.
