My Roommate Leaves his 360 On..

Allllll the time. I decided not to bring mine because he told me before I got here that he was already bringing his, but he's got a problem or something. Everytime he's here when I get here, the Xbox 360 is turned on. The other night, I came home about midnight from my friends' dorm, and this mug was sound asleep. And of course, when I walk into the common area, his 360 is just screaming, still with the green light. I walked over and turned it off. When I woke up in the morning, he was alreadyup and what do you know..the Xbox 360 is on again. He left it on when he left for class and I turned it off.

He has never said anything to me about it either.

I just got home from my friends' dorm again and he's in his room hanging out. In the common area, the Xbox 360 is on.

This time I decided I'm not gonna mess with it. If he wants to leave it on all night, that's on him when it blows up to pieces and he's mad.

It's weird cause a friend of mine has a similar habit at times and leaves his Xbox and 360 on for hours (6-10) hours at a time.

With my luck someone would have to call the Fire Dept., but he's never had a problem doing that...go figure.

You ever fall asleep with it on though?
How is this fool gonna feel when he wakes up and gets red lights or it won't even turn on?

If you change the settings, otherwise it stays on.

I'm so paranoid about mine I don't leave it on for 30 minutes to download anything.

To each his own I gues.

I've left it on while I've slept. I've also had the problem with someone elses controller turning my 360 on from two floors up >_<.

He has gone to sleep and the 360 is still running. We've got a HD projector hooked up in here too, so I want to go watch a movie on it, but I'll watch it on my laptop just so he can let his 360 RIP (Run in Peace)

Either you got a lemon 360 or your dont. Leaving the 360 on all the time at the dashboard shouldnt be a problem. Leaving games running all the time on the other hand may overheat it.

I don't even leave my computer on when not in use. Some believe turning a computer off hurts it. I think letting it cool off is the right thing. Those processors don't like heat too much, that's why they got fans. The 360 is a computer in it's own way-and they can and will get HOT over time.

PC's should be fine to leave on. Notice servers are constantly on. There is a myth that turning the machine on and off causes stress on the machine cause of it heating up and cooling down, making the differences in temperature to cause parts and soldered joints on the machine to expand and collapse.

Whichever way you look at it, its up to the user to decide whether they want their pc's on or off. Of course, you will save money by turning them off

I digress. With the 360, i dont trust leaving it on. If you have a warranty, then the sky's the limit, same on the pc...who cares when you can have it replaced.

I have had my ps2 for years and its always on standby when its not on. There have been discussions of whether this is good or not. YMMV.

                              Now i am just rambling.
