You will need to buy the 360 wireless adaptor for 100 regardless. What form of broadband do you have? Your broadband modem might have wireless built in where it can pick up the 360 wireless adaptor. If it doesn't have wireless built into it, you will have to buy a wireless router of some sort to pick up the 360 wireless adaptor.

An example would be that I had DSL when I first got my 360 wireless adaptor. DSL's modem has wireless built into it, so it picked up the 360 wireless adaptor and I was set. I just graduated a couple of months back and had more money due to my new job. I wanted to upgrade to cable, but their modem didn't have wireless built in. Time Warner wanted to charge me $7 dollars a month for it to have wireless capabilities. I didn't like that idea so I had to go out and buy a wireless router.

Hope that helps, maybe someone could explain it better. Regardless let me know if you have any more question, I will do the best I can to help you out.

You probably need the Xbox USB adapter since the 360 has drivers for that device.

However, you could get a wireless bridge to use. That's what I have - Linksys wireless bridge that's plugged into my 360. That communicates with my wireless router that's upstairs.

I'm using the $99 360 Adapter, and it works great. I can hook my 360 up in my bedroom and living room and not have to worry about running ethernet wire.

Here's the bridge that I have:

Experience fast, reliable, secure and easy to use WiFi when you level up with connectivity solutions made for home, business, and enterprise from Linksys.

The reason I got a bridge instead of the 360 USB adapter is that the 360 adapter can only be used on the 360. So when the 360 is gone, the adapter becomes a waste. So I got a bridge that I can use in the future. These cost around 80-90.

So do you already have a wireless router?

If so then no, you dont need to drop $100 on MS official adapter.

You can a buy a Linksys WGA11B Wireless-B Game Adapter. This is what I used on my Xbox and am using on my 360 now. Amazon has them on sale for $20 right now.

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to connect to the internet through a laptop that is connected wirelessly. Anyone know the way how to?

HA! HA!! I connected to XBOX Live using a laptop that was wireless. That so tight. Now I don't need a wireless adapter. So happy. Man, this is the happiest feeling in the world. Stupid guy at the support line was so darn lazy. If anyone wants to try it. When I get back, I'll try and walk anyone through what I did. Took a little working around with it, but it works. So happy!!

I have the original xbox wireless adapter which works just fine with the 360 for Live, music streaming and pictures....I have yet to be able to connect to the video portion though...Not sure if it is my original xbox adapter, or if I just don't know what I'm doing

Maybe someone here can help....It says I am connected to a media center cpu, but everytime I try to connect to the videos it basically just times out....do I have to actually start the Media Center application for this to work?

                            Thanks.
