WSOP: Tournament Of Champions 2007 Edition (360)

Anyone going to pick this game up next week? I have been looking forward to it, but I have only seen very limited information on it. I went to the Activision site and it's not even mentioned, that I could find.

The commercials for it have been airing during the "Main Event" on ESPN for the last couple of weeks. I know that the poker boom is coming to an end, but I still love it. The release of the poker game on XBL seems to be a success, so, I would imagine that WSOP will get a lot of sales again.

It's 39.99 and will be released on Tuesday. If anyone has a link to some movies or anything, please post them.

First game to take advantage of the XBL Camera:

"Show your face: Put yourself in the game with the proprietary DigiMask™ technology specifically licensed for this title. Use your Xbox 360™ camera to map your likeness on your own in-game character. Will your poker face stand up to the pressure?"

Yeah, I know. It looks to be very cool going by the little preview IGN gave several weeks back. Just imagine how great that would be for sports games as well.

I bet that it gets implemented in the next round of sports games.

I may pick it up later after a price drop, but I'm still playing the free version on XBL. I know this version has more bells and whistles, but the other version was free and you can't beat that for sure.

            Exactly.

I play mainly online. What can WSOP really offer that's worth $40 more than XBLA's Texas Hold 'Em?

I'll be picking it up for sure. I can't stand to play the Texas Hold em arcade version. It moves soooo slooowwwwww. That drives me crazy. I guess because there is really nothing on screen going it just gets real boring and I love poker.

anyone picked this up today? I'm thinking of going out and looking for it. It might be a $40 gamble. I just hate to buy it without seeing a few impressions first.

Well then you're getting your money's worth right off the bat.

I'm itching to go buy it. I just don't want to throw away the money and never play the game. At least, a little review from somewhere would be helpful.

So far it looks iffy. Here are some quotes from people on xbox.com that have it.

                            XSL
"as for the game it self, there is no issue with the people who join and sit out. you can set the timer to 15 seconds. you do not have to hit A after each hand played.

then theres the reported rumors of buying in for $1,000 only to win $1,000. this is a 100% rumor, it is not true at all. my first game online was a $1,500 buy in that 5 or 6 people joined. i took first winning around $5,000.

im personly rather happy with this game. theres only 2 things id change. you can't see whos talking. and the ranked games tend to lock up at loading screen. but i also dont see much point in the ranked games. in ranked games, you dont buy in to the table. there free to play, and all you take home is a win or lose on your rank. because no money is on the table, people tend to play very loose. in non ranked games, your forced to buy into the table using your bankroll. having somthing to lose, seems to make for a better played game. now theres people that would debate this with me, but its just what i have noticed after playing a full day of poker online.

ive played at least 20 non ranked games today, none of which locked up & all of them were well played games that lasted awhile. then theres the 3 ranked games i played, one locked up, the other 2 were just played bad & was a rather short game.

id also like to add that the non ranked open tables are a joke. in the open table, people play like fools. your looking at a $300 to all in pre flop bet every hand. most the time there all in on stupid hands. for the moment, the non ranked open table seems to be the most played.

the non ranked sit n go & multi table tourney seems to be the most well played games wsop toc has to offer. but with this game being new, not many people have it yet. the sit n go & multi table tourneys take awhile to fill up. id say in a few weeks these 2 types of non ranked games will take over. every tourny i played today did take some time to get the people to join up, but was well worth the good game that followed. once theres more players, this wait time will go down big time.

well i hope you guys dont mind my 3 posts in a row. im just trying to hand out as much info as i can at this time. i have to say for $39.99, this game is well worth the price =)"

                            Interceptor
"Hold your opinion about the game until you try the multiplayer. If you thought Texas Hold'em on arcade had problems...wait until you play this."

"a) Don't forget that you can't see who is talking in multiplayer.

                            b) Also, many rooms seem to have a severe mic feedback / echo issue....and of course there's no way to narrow down who is causing it (see a).

                            c) Resolution is way to low...there is no way I should be seeing jaggies on the letter A on my card. Even Texas Hold'em on arcade has higher resolution textures.

                            This game...sucks. In it's current state I give it a 5/10."

"I know it's just poker and all, but the graphics suck. And the single player, HAHAHA. the 2 announcers (forget their names) are like zombies.... the eyes creep me out, and the one on the left always looks like he's looking at nothing.... they both remind me of tards..."

are they talking about the 360 version or what? I don't care about the XBL part of the game. I would like to know how the single player offline is.
