XBox 360 Concern or is this Common?

Hey guys. Just picked up a 360. I'm very curious, as I've never had this happen to me before:

Is it common for my XBox 360 to be hot after about 1 1/2 hrs of gameplay? also, same with my games?

And, is it common for XBox 360 to make like a LOUD noise while there is a CD inside? With no CD, everything runs peaceful. however, with a cd.... sounds like a terrible loud humming.

lol. where have you been? it's normal. just make sure you have it in a well ventilated area.

heh, if your referring to my join date and stuff, I think I forgot about OS. Forgot about video games, basically. .

Then I finally manned up and bought my 360.

So, you think both are normal? I shouldn't be worried whatsoever? Keeping in mind I bought it yesterday, and really, the humming noise pisses me off more then the heat.

This is a problem that both the 360 (and most likely the PS3) will have. Louder fans since the guts of the system run hotter and even the DVD drive runs faster. it's just how it is.

Like SoMiss said, just make sure that it's WELL VENTILATED!!!

and SoMiss meant "where have you been?" as more of a sarcastic statement since on this board and many other message boards on the net the talk had been how hot and how loud the 360 ran. He wasn't questioning where you had really been.

thanks a lot guys. i really like the 360, but the loudness.. jesus christ. oh well. gotta live with it, I'll probably get used to it.

At least I'll sleep better knowing that my XBox 360 isn't broken, haha.
