XBox 360 + HDTV question
I have a question for you guys. Is it worth getting a Xbox 360 if you don't have a HDTV and can't afford to buy one and the 360 also? Would I be better off getting the TV first or getting the 360 and then the TV down the road? Sorry for the questions but I need some input.Tags: None -

Re: XBox 360 + HDTV question
Go VGA if you can't afford a HDTV. 360 games are HD and they look like crap without HD equipment. I played on a 19" LCD monitor for a year before I purchased a HD television.Comment

Re: XBox 360 + HDTV question
you don't need a HDTV to enjoy the 360. Some of these guys are filling you with BS. I have a 32" Sony Wega standard def TV and the 360 looks amazing on it. I bought the VGA cables and hooked them up to my Samsung 910t monitor and it didn't look that much better.
Buy a 360 and enjoy it and then save up for a HDTV if you would like. Don't believe those that say you need a HDTV to enjoy a 360. It's very helpful if you have a widescreen option, but HD is not necessary to enjoy it.
I have played Madden on a HDTV and on my TV. The difference is not night and day like some would have you believe. I don't know if that is true for all games, but the games that I have played, which are mainly sports games, don't look 100% better on a HDTV. If you have a good SDTV, you will be fine.NFL: Tennessee Titans

Re: XBox 360 + HDTV question
I don't own a 360, but there is quite a few games that aren't meant to play on a SDTV. Some games like Saints Row, Dead or Alive 4 and PGR3 for example do not look next-gen impressive on a SDTV. I can't stress SR enough, the explosions look so muted in SD. Unless you have a top of the line Wega or something. There are games like GRAW, Fight Night COD 2 etc...that look next-gen either way. You can get away with it, but you would want to stick with top-tier matieral graphics wise. This of course becomes easier as the system standards go up as the lifespan increases. If I was in this situation I'd go for a VGA connection, next-gen and SD don't go together.Comment

Re: XBox 360 + HDTV question
Just a quick related question:
Is there anyway to wirelessly connect a 360 to a tv? With plasma's and LCD's getting so light having it wall mounted is an option and it would look way less cool if you had a whole bunch of cords hanging down from the back of the tv? It doesn't effect me now but might in the future if the mrs and i get a 2nd smaller HDTV to have in the bedroom.....Comment

There's no way to connect the 360 to a TV wirelessly. I know a couple of people who have wall mounted plasmas/LCDs and they run their cables through the wall so you can't see them hanging from the TV. It's pretty easy to cut out the drywall and patch it up.XBL: TancComment

That is not completely true. I have seen them on both, and there is a pretty big difference. Especially with the TV being wide screen. My Hockey game look a lot better then my friends on a standard TV. But his still looks good too, so you or kinda right. So I guess I can agree with that some what lol!Comment

Re: XBox 360 + HDTV question
Your definition of crap must be different than anybody else's definition of crap, because even in standard definition, the XBox 360 blows away the PS2 and original XBox.
Don't listen to people like this guy, he's just talking out of his you know what.Comment
