I just called my EB, and they said it just came in on their late shipment. I have never played the series before, but it looks pretty sweet.

Re: Splinter Cell: Double Agent (360)

Well, played the 1st single player mission through. For some reason, these games always puzzle me as to what to do to accomplish some of the objectives. First of all, the graphics are definitely next-gen. I play on a 32 inch flat screen sdtv, and there are no jaggies, tearing, or horrible framerate issues.

Also, keep in mind I didn't play much of the last SC either. Pushing select brings up a wrist computer or whatever which shows objectives, a sweet 3-D map, and other mission related info. I think the stealth kills are the same. You sneak behind someone, push A to grab them, and then LT knocks them out and RT kills them by breaking their necks. There are some sweet knife kills as well. Several types of grenades, frag, flash, smoke, and you can point your pistol at certain electronic devices and disable them temporarily.

The mission I played was set in a rocket facility and as most SC levels are, it was mostly dark, but what was lit up looked pretty. The fire looks insanely real, and Sam Fisher looks plain old now, like in his 50's!!! The sound is very well done too, especially in Dolby digital. Overall, to me it seems like the same good ole SC game. Lots of stealth, hacking, climbing, and wenching. I will post more after more time with the game.

Re: Splinter Cell: Double Agent (360)

Just picked it up played the first 3 levels and the game is very good.

+Each level so far has been very unique.
+Splinter Cell feels more like Metal Gear now that they added a story as well as a more movie like soundtrack.
+Feels next Gen all the way so far.

-Nothing really groundbreaking to the games mechanics, but if it aint broke dont fix it.
-There are no indicators telling you how much cover you have like in previous versions.
-Load times are quite long b4 each level.

I agree, the load times are pretty long.

The AI is very good, and very smart. They use several people to cover one area, making moving very thought out.

I agree with the Metal Gear comparison also.

There is a nice R6: Vegas trailer on the disc

Single Player is worth the time invested.

You unlock new items/gadgets after each mission!

I thought I remember hearing on a video interview that they did away with the onscreen indicator. And added it to the back of Fishers suit. It goes from Green to Orange to Red. Notice anything like that on him?

He does have an indicator he wears, sort of looks like a pager. It turns red, yellow, and green, depending on the situation.

Never would of realized that without you. I was like what is this flashing thing on his back.

I decided to stop in my Gamestop right by my house just to see if I could get lucky, and the jacka$$es told me Thursday. I said it back to him just to make sure I heard him right, and he said yeah, Thursday. I was like hmm, ok. Then of course he tried to get me to preorder. I said no thanks, I'll just get it from best buy tomorrow.

A clueless/rude video game store clerk? Astonishing......
