    Re: Xbox 360/PC Monitor Question

To follow up on my earlier post, put it this way...

I have a 30" Samsung CRT HDTV in the living room. I had the 360 hooked up to that for a while...but ultimately brought it back to my PC monitor. It's just too damn crisp and sharp to play it anywhere else.

I'd like to relocate my 360 to the same location as my PC/monitor. It's currently hooked up to my 51" rear projection HDTV but it sounds like I will be getting better graphics on my PC monitor, so I'll sacrifice size for quality.

Here's what I'm thinking..... I'd like to have my PC and the 360 share the same monitor. Rather than having to swap cables between the two, I'm wondering if a VGA switch would work. See the link below:

My concern is that this switch may not be compatible with the XBox 360 VGA cable. I'm thinking that since it is not a "HD VGA" switch then I'll lose that piece of it....hope that makes sense !!! Does anybody have a definite answer for this ???
You're only thinking you are getting better graphics. Anything when it's smaller looks crisper. Look at an old SDTV that is 46" compared to a 13" SDTV, which has the better picture? Which one do you want to watch things on? If you have a 51" HDTV, I would have kept the 360 on it personally.

But she's never met you before? She's seen your speedo pictures, and yeah, she did say by looking at the picture it must be small. It's ok.

I tend to agree. I used to used the VGA cables on my monitor. I still use the monitor but I now use the hd cables as I have both my 360 and hd cable box hooked up to a video switcher and I see absolutely no difference between the 2 setups on 720p.

To be more specific about audio, do I hook it up to speakers? If so do I buy new speakers for it?

I was plugging it into my computer speakers when the other day I realized I had an audio in jack on my computer and I can conveniently just plug it into it now and have sound play through my speakers without having to switch it out each time I want to use my speakers for just hearind sound from the computer. I would check to see if you have an audio in.
