    Xbox Live through a Router...

Hey fellas, does online gaming take a hit when you run your connection through a router?

nope... my whole house uses a router + hub... no hit.. unless another user on the router is hogging the bandwidth by uploading and downloading like crazy

I'm running with a wireless router and have had no problems. There are some ports that should be opened though for Xbox Live, though.

I play a lot of GRAW and if I felt I had any lag I'd be cursing up a storm! Instead I don't get kills because I suck

I've never had any issues with routers. That's why I feel the issues with NBA2K7 online is on their end. No probs with any others (EA for one)

I am running through a router, and its no prob here. I have an XBOX Live supported router. I don't know if that matters or not.

What ports and how do you get them open? I am having some problems with connectivity and I use the linksys wireles G mentioned in this thread.

Wondering if it's my system (hope not!), but lately having to try to connect multiple times before I can get on. usually i have to go test my connection about 5 times before i have success. during the test the NAt is always moderate (which I know is not optimal but dont know how to change toi Open).

Im not too tech savvy so any help would be greatly appreciated....
