Yeah, especially when people think the Wii is going to suck....for whatever reason.

I'm going to have to wait a few weeks though, just for impressions, because buying something that innovative can have it's issues. I have full trust in Nintendo, though.

One thing that I like about the Wii is the full Backwards Compatibility with the Cube games + the old NES, SNES, and N64 (can't remember if this one was confirmed) games for download down the road.

I'm still not sold on the Wiimote at this point.

I kind of saw this coming, if it holds up. And like most of you, I'm not willing to go to extreme measures considering the launch lineup. However, without a 360 to fall back on, I kind of had my mind made up for my first launch console so that's no fun. Guess I'll have to devote a little resourcefulness to this if it comes to it.

This would apply to EB as well since they're owned by Gamestop, true?

If you want to get a PS3, I would say camp out at least 1 day in advance. Around me, people were camped out for 360's at least 12 hours early. Considering there will be less PS3's than 360's, I would say that's your best/only bet.

yes the wii has n64 games, but all of the games cost too much in my opinion. Also they charge too much for a controller, when the console was hyped as get together with your friends machine.

Ugh... not even worth it, especially with how busy work is.

I don't know about the 360, but for the PS2 plenty of people were able to walk up just a few hours before Best Buy opened to get a PS2. I'd wager if you're there by 5 AM (which isn't terribly early, I'm up that early for work) you could probably get one. Or, just see if TRU or someone else is offerring bundles/pre-orders.

I myself and interested in the Wii and this will make it difficult to get one. I'll weigh my options as they come from here until launch. I'm still not sure if I'm willing to drop a bunch of money on videogames right now.

I really want hands-on time with a Wii before I buy one touch unfelt. The sensory experience is so vital with the Wiimote, and I really need to judge how accurate the tracking is and try to determine if waving a controller around will get old after a month or so.

I like the Wii concept a lot, but I still remain a bit of a virtual doubting Thomas.

I don't camp out for ish, and I have $350 of best buy gift certificates(aquired for participating in vanpool AQMD program) so it looks like I'll have to wait until it slows down, or hire a day laborer to squat for me.

My buddy did that for the PS2. He paid 10 people to wait in line $50 each. Sold all 10 on Ebay. People were pissed as they dumped PS2 after PS2 in his trunk.

Actually I live in a pretty large market. There was a line that formed that afternoon, but that Best Buy had a healthy amount of units (70-something). Maybe 30 people were there all night, but it really got crowded at dawn. By the time they opened there were way more people there than consoles. The 24 hour Wal-Mart on the other hand, their line for 54 consoles was well past that number before school got out that day. With how cold it gets in New England, not a lot of people are willing to sleep on pavement for a videogame machine. I'd guarantee if anyone shows up (in this area anyways) at 4am they'll get one. I'd still say your chances are pretty good at 5am. After that and you're pushing it.

i camped out for a 360... worst night ever.... it snowed, sleeted, rained, and it was just plain horrible. I told myself I'd never try to be a fake navy seal for another console ever again... if i can't pre-order a PS3 then... i just won't have one.

It was doing that when the 360 launched too. I had mine at midnight, drove by Best Buy chuckling at the hundreds in line.
