No plans to buy one. There are some exclusives I'd like to play on the PS3, but those are counter-balanced by the 360 exclusives. Everything else is cross-platform, so I don't really need a PS3.

At $400, I would have got one just to mess around with it. But at $500, I won't. In the long run, even the $400 version, I may have ended up on Ebay with it..LOL

One of my good friends who's a manager at Gamestop said at their conference he was less than impressed with the PS3 (and he's an admitted Sony fanboy). He just said the games were lacking, titles had a lot of framerate issues, and were no better graphically than the 360. That there, scares me. That's twice now, the TGS people reported framerate issues with the games.

Nope. I will be considering a Wii in the spring though if it proves to be as neat as it's looking right now...

*cosigns* The 360 is my system of choice, and the Wii only because of the NES, SNES, N64, and a few Wii exclusives are the only reasons I'd be purchasing it.

I'll be happy with one system this time around. I want to wait till SONY and NINTENDO unleash all their weapons over the next year.

Yes but not right away. I have to have The Show, Metal Gear and a few others that we won't see on the other consoles

Since it appears that the Guitar Hero series will co-release with the 360, it appears that I may not ever see the PS3.
I used to be a big FF fan, but haven't played the series since FF9.

Does anyone know if the GTA series will release with 360 and PS3 simultaneously?

360+HDTV+Toshiba A1 HD-DVD PLAYER= No need for PS3.

Everything I've read says they are releasing on the same day, so knowing that GTA was the only sony "exclusive" that I wanted to play is enough for me to stick with my 360 and I was definetly one of the fanboys that sided with sony. No longer. I may still get one down the road or I may not.

No way I'm getting a PS3. I'm happy with my 360. People that say there is no price difference if you factor in everything that comes with the system and compare to the same equipment for the 360 fail to make an important distinction: the price is about the same IF YOU WANT OR NEED THE EXTRA ITEMS. Otherwise, it's jsut much more expensive. The problem isn't that they're ripping you off on th eactual stuff in the box but rather there there is no lower cost alternative for those that don't care about the extras, which makes the 360 much cheaper.

On a different note, this may sound crazy but I'm actually considering the purchase of a PS2 rather than a PS3 to go along with my 360. There are many PS1 and PS2 titles that I'm nostalgic about like the Gran Turismo games, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy and Soul Calibur series, not to mention certain sports games (to this point I haven't had as much fun with a racing game as I had with NASCAR 2005).

I had a PS2 that I sold when I got my XBOX. I sold my XBOX after getting my 360 even though there were still titles I enjoyed for it, such as what I would call "fringe" sports titles (Rugby 06, MVP NCAA Baseball, Arena Football). I was expecting these to become backward compatible or for 360 versions to be made sometime this year. It's now pretty apparent that neither will happen. So I'm really tempted to pick up a PS2 while I still can and have access to these old favorites as well as other stellar titles from the PS1 and PS2 era, most of which can be had for a very low price these days.

I wouldn't doubt it for a second. They will be exclusive for the PS3.
