I'm getting a 360...need some advice

I'm going to bite the bullet sometime in the next couple of days, but wanted some advice from the people that have had the system for a while....

-Is the remote different than the standard Windows Media Center remote I currently have? If so, is it worthwhile?

-Is the play and charge kit necessary if I can never see myself playing for more than 4 hrs at a time?

-Do the mechanical "grinding" issues tend to be isolated to those who insist on housing the 360 vertically?

-Is there any potential issue that I might not be aware of that would impact my purchase decision? (I've already decided I will be getting the extended warranty)

I would keep the system flat, no system IMO is made to be vertical. The Plug and Play kit is great IMO, it's a quick recharge to the battery.

The warranty is a must.

I agree, the play and charge kit is a must. It'll pay for itself in no time. Also a cooler is a good idea, even with a warranty.

The play and charge kit is great and will save you battery money in the long term. I have the system on its side but I also have a two year warranty since I lost a PS2 that was upright (they're not to be confused with Weebles). Really, if I had space for it to sit on its side it would be like that but there just isn't, at least not properly ventilated space. No problems since purchasing in February, no grinding, no errors, nothing. Considering how fragile these things are you NEED a warranty though.

warranty for real?? i dont think i ever got a warranty for a system....
im thinking of getting a 360 soon as well, just waiting for a price drop....or a deal that gets the prem under 350

Haven't you read all of the threads at this forum about dead 360s? Buying a 360 without a warranty is like having sex with a Bangkok whore without wearing a rubber -- VERY risky.

Haven't you read all of the threads at this forum about dead 360s? Buying a 360 without a warranty is like having sex with a Bangkok whore without wearing a rubber -- VERY risky.
