    Question about XBOX 360 accessories

I am going to get a 360 in a couple weeks, but need some answers about the accessories.

Whats the difference btw the Quick Charge & Play and Charge? Need a wired controller while the batteries charge on the quick charge?

Whats the best cooler? Intercooler? Fan Stand? Intec glow stand w/ fan? I have read the link in candyman's sig comparing the Intercooler and Fan Stand, leaning towards the Intercooler.

Does it matter if the 360 is standing vertical or laying down? I remeber something about the PS2 having more problems if it was standing.

Re: Questions about XBOX 360 accessories

I just bought one and asked similar questions....I opted for the quick charge because I wouldn't have been able to use the play and charge (cord wasn't long enough).

I decided to get the best buy 2 year plan instead of an intercooler....and all systems work better on the side rather than vertical (from what I could tell, 90% of the people having problems were insisting on housing their 360 vertically). I am able to put my 360 by itself where it is well ventilated (plus it's in my basement which is cool anyway) and haven't noticed any crazy amount of heat coming off of it, even when I left it on to download a bunch of demos overnight.

    Hope that is helpful.

Re: Question about XBOX 360 accessories

I have both chargers, but I mostly use the quick charge. Both chargers work fine though. For the quick charge, the charge lasts for a long time, so if you just pop the battery pack in the charge kit every few days you'll be fine. The wireless can also use double-a batteries, so if your rechargeable dies you can use regular batteries as a back-up. With the play-n-charge you can also charge with the 360 in standby mode so, but I don't think it charges as fast as the quick charge. You can't really go wrong either way. There's really no need for the wired controller as a back-up.

I don't have any of the fans. I've also had my system vertical and horizontal, with no problems (knock on wood) although it's been horizontal for the past 6 months due to space issues.
