Preordered the collectors edition from EB....not cheap, but this is the last PS2 title in the series, so why not?

Okay, here's something odd. The status on my game preorder just went to "processing" (which usually means shipping is a day or 2 away, despite the Oct. 31 release date). However the order for the strategy guide, which was supposed to ship on the 23rd, still just says "Usually Ships in 24 hours". I placed both orders at the same time.
I'm guessing they're just going to send both out together, but that's just kinda weird. Not that it matters all that much, I'm not even cracking open that book until I beat the game (well, maybe for a character bio or two
)

The guide just came in via UPS today. This thing is massive - the entire package (collector's edition) is almost an inch thick cover to cover. Part of that is an art book, but the majority of it is the guide itself.
It's tempting to look....but I really don't want to risk spoiling anything. In addition, Square-Enix's in-game tutorials are usually very good, so it's not like I'll have to look at it to figure out what's going on. Plus, I played the demo inside DQVIII, so I have at least some idea of what the battle contols will be like.

This is the last PS2 game I'll ever buy. The 10, 15 roleplaying games released for the PS2 in 2006 was the major reason I didn't waste money I shouldn't waste and get a 360. That, and the lack of what I would consider any truly next level transcendent games for the 360.
Its been a great run for the old gal.
If I finish FF XII, my computer can't really run Neverwinter Nights 2 well, and CHOOPS 2k7 360 is a couple of notches above NBA 2k7 360 then that may enough to get me to take the 360 plunge.Jordan Mychal Lemos
