Advance Wars: DS

I'm thinking of picking up this game for my new DS lite based on the reviews it has gotten. I'm wondering though I'm not much of an RTS fan (actually never really played one), and I just wanted to see what everyone thought of this game.

Can someone provide me with a rundown of what this game is all about?

Dont pick it up, its way too addicting. Basically its a elaborate rock paper scissors war game. Very Fun and definately one of the best DS games.

Alot of strategy and depth, not so much on the luck part, though i do think it plays a miniscule part in the outcomes. Most of the reviews will tell you what you need to know, but the game is addicting.

I just got this game and a DS lite recently but have yet to really put much time in to it. I've heard nothing but good things about the game so hopefully I can put in a serious session soon. The game is only $20 which is great.

Lasers, scissors, water, dynamite, rock, paper, pencil, plants, sun, wind. Great game

It's not an RTS per say. It's all turn based.
You'll start a mission with X amount of units... then you'll need to capture cities for money so you can produce more units.
Strategy is involved. Luck, that happens when you placed a unit in a spot that was just a smart spot to have it at. Since you are under "Fog of war" you can't see all the enemy units on the board unless you had your units spread out evenly, but by that point the CPU would shread them for being alone.

You've got a really good single player mode. You can make maps of your own.
If you know someone with the game expect to have a heck of a dual agaisnt each other. It's just a really really well done turn based strategy game.

It deserves all the high marks it gets.

I finally beat Advance Wars for the DS. Company travel will do that to you

Total playtime include all the mini-games .... 44 Hours. Great $20 spent on that game

yeah I played the game they had on the GBA. It was surprisingly awesome.

I played one and two on the advance and absolutely loved it. This may make be buy a DS to play it.
