How much of a difference (heat wise) will the new 360 60mm cpu make?

Will it be a large difference? I have heard several people say it wont be as big of a heat difference as reported. Does anyone know?

    Thanks

    What s the new 360 60mm cpu?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I would guess a 65% drop in the heat output.

So if the 360 is now generating about 100 degrees(f), you are saying that this will lower it to under 40 degrees??

Nah somewhere I read the heat coming out of the 360 was much higher than a 100 degrees. Comparing it to my PC I would say it's putting out around 70 degrees celsius which comes out to around 158 degrees.

The back of my 360 feels pretty much the same temperature when my 7900 GTO is running at 70c, it's pretty hot. Any electronic device running at 100 degrees F isn't even breaking a sweat.

          158 degrees F minus 65% = 102.7 F

            158 degrees F minus 65% = 102.7 F

wait a second, that doesnt sound right, or maybe my brain is finally beginning to fail me

            .65 x 158 = 102.7

            158 -102.7 = 55.3 F

???? should i go back and take a stats class again?

Bacardi I used the calculator on my eMac. I entered 158 degrees and told it to minus the amount by 65% and it gave me 102.7, you had it right in your first example. At 102.7 degrees the 360 would blow out slightly cool air out the back.

              Don't subtract 158-102.7 (that's not correct)

I really don't want to get involved in a statistical argument, but....

                102.7 degrees is 65% of 158 degrees

                That makes it 35% cooler
                or 65% as warm

                not 65% cooler.

I guess i am fried from coding all day. That means i need a break.

Time to take a walk outside and breathe in some fresh air ( now that i have hijacked this thread).

So then...the new cpu is indeed better..as far as the heat goes?

It most likely will be. Will you be able to notice the difference? probably not.

Will it make the 360 last longer and have fewer problems or will it not make that much of a difference?
