Not surprised as less exclusives seem to be the trend. I was happy that the PS2 wrestling game made it over to the 360.

While MS was able to get rare and lionhead, capcom is a japanese company. They'd probably commit ritualistic suicide than sell out to an american corporation.

the ps3 sold more on launch day than the 360 did in a year in japan. No way this happens.

since you cited a game rag making rumors, which has done so for like a decade? What kind of a magazine exposes a rumor only to cop out and end it with a question mark? "MGS4 on XBOX360?", doesn't that sure sound like it'll sell magazines on baseless rumors?

It was a rumor some time last year that microsoft was eying up Nintendo for a buy out. I recall CNN money even running a piece about it. That never materialized. not only that, but your very same EGM said that RE5 would be a ps3 exclusive..oops

And the guys from 1up.com on their podcast also hinted and they feel strongly that we'll see Final Fantasy XIII on the 360 as well. They had a huge debate on exclusivity and it no longer means what it did last gen. Now it's tied to time and content exclusive more than a system exclusive.

I can't see them totally selling out, but I can see them trying to do something similar to what they're doing with Mistwalker....offer to bankroll their projects and split the profits. That would be MEGATON

Dead Rising, Resident Evil, Lost Planet and Devil May Cry...not to mention their SF IP's...all 360 exclusives? Yipes.

Should be interesting. I read awhile back that Sony was trying to secure exclusitivity on the next Res Evil and DR2...maybe this is MS's response?

Like I've said before, so many games are multiplatform now. The line for those "big exclusives" is becoming thinner and thinner.

Well I still have to buy a PS3 for FFXIII, GT5, and the new Naughty Dog game (plus the Jason Rubin title).

A blow though, for sure, though the graphics may be a tad crisper on PS3 due to the original development.

Two things will happen, Microsoft will end up with ports of MGS4 and FF13 or Sony will have to break the bank to make up for the lack consoles out in the market when those games ship.

There is one trend here, Sony is losing their hold over the gaming world.

Maybe I'm just the resident Metal Gear dork, but am I the only one to catch the fact that the wrong subtitle is used in reference to MGS4? It's Guns of the Patriots, not Sons of Liberty (Metal Gear Solid 2).

Konami is in the business of making games, but survives off its ability to sell them. It's definitely feasible to see a 360 port a year or few months after the PS3 release. Since Konami is big on re-releases, maybe the PS3 gets the original, and then both consoles get the "Special Edition" version down the line. The re-release of Snake Eater (MGS3) might've been ported to the Xbox if MS didn't have the 360 on deck. Metal Gear Solid 2 followed a similar trail: PS2 original, PS2/Xbox re-release.
