If the manager really did that he should be fired. What a fool. If that kid got hurt bad enough though he'll likely get some money out of it, enough for his eventual PS3.

Why? Because he was dumb enough to run into a pole. People shouldn't be blamed for other people's stupidity.

Man Hurt Trying to Get Play Station 3 in West Bend

West Bend police say a 19-year-old man had to go to the hospital after hurting himself while trying to get in line for a Playstation 3 at a Wal-Mart on Paradise Dr.

The manager set up ten chairs outside the store and then moved the crowd to a different location. The manager told people the first 10 people to get to the chairs would be the only ones to get a playstation at the store.

The manager gave a signal to the crowd and had everyone run to the chairs. Police say the 19-year-old ran into a pole while trying to get to the chairs, hurting his head.

This is quite possibly the dumbest method of deterimining priority I have ever read about.

I would not be entirely shocked if the injured man sued Wal-Mart on the basis that their means for determining who was eligible for a PS3 was dangerous in nature.

Simply ridiculous. Intead of introducing a more controlled means for selection, we are going to have you 50 people sprint to, and fight for, 10 chairs. I am simply out of words regarding the level of stupidity to which the entire fiasco has reached.

I kind of want the injured guy to sue Wal-Mart so this story, and moronic manager, can get national media attention.

I would think that if Sony is going to charge $200 more for their system it should "wow" you, otherwise the inclusion of things like the Blu-Ray which boosted the price were a poor decision. I don't know how this whole thing is going to turn out but most of Sony's decisions don't pass my smell test.
