Anybody have an idea when the 2nd shipments will arrive?

Anyone know when stores will begin getting more ps3's? If so dont you guys think it will be as bad as this initial launch?

I'm not sure how many units Sony promised by the end of the year. I don't expect it to be much. Nintendo, on the other hand, is supposedly supplying 250,000 a week through the end of the year.

Sony keeps saying 750k before the end of 2006. Initial shipments were cut in half so I would cut the 750k in half as well.

The good news is that ebay probably won't see the assault like it did with the first shipment of PS3's.

sony says 100k per wek through the end of the year. That'd give them 1 million in the US by january.

But even if you cut that by a little to 75k a week, it's still not that bad. However, I'd still think that even with a million units in the US, that ebay prices will still be a little higher.

"We are getting a second shipment next week, probably around the middle of next week," Matt Levitan , marketing and public relations manager for Sony Computer Entertainment of Canada, told CBC News Online on Friday. "We'll know by Monday or Tuesday when they will be available.

"We are flying in shipments from Japan and China, and will probably ship them directly to retail" instead of to Sony's warehouses, he said.

Levitan expects four or five shipments before the end of the calendar year, estimating each batch will be the equivalent of a quarter of the units available at launch.

Appreciate the feedback guys. Im not in too much of a rush to get 1 but it would be nice to get 1 soon. Just to have it. It's gonna be just like the 360 wit the slow rush of good games. It'll be interesting to see how sales are after Christmas.

There is two reasons I am waiting. I have a 360 and the 2nd generation 360 games will generally be better then 1st generation PS3 games. That and MLB doesn't come out until Feb/Mar. Once that is on it's way, I will start to think about getting it then.

I'd like to play MLB too but I just can't see owning a PS3 and 360 at the same time. The common denominator for me is XBL and this is where Sony dropped the ball imo. I'd consider getting rid of the 360 for the PS3 but i'd lose one of it's huge features, xbl.

That's the thing, I can't own both either. I would HAVE to get rid of the 360. It all depends on MLB 2K, because I need a baseball game.

If I get PS3 I will stick keep my 360. But this if all depends on the rating and reviews of The Show. And of course how 2K does but I have a feeling it won't beat out The Show.

With the exception of NBA2K I don't trust any publisher to perform right out of the gate with a new system and this includes the Sony MLB Team.

Look how bad NBA 07 still is with a new system. I would take a wait and see first with MLB 07 on the PS3.

I'm thinking the Sony team learned their lesson with the NBA disaster. I'm hoping they're working hardcore on this game but we'll see come spring time.

Without a shred of info about MLB on the ps3, we do know that this series is at a much better starting point than the NBA series. To your point the game still has to prove itself.
