360 Warranty help please
Ok, so I bought an Xbox 360 at launch last year from EB Games. I got the 1 year warranty and it is expiring on Wednesday. I have gotten the 3 rings of death once and the system has frozen a couple times.

Re: 360 Warranty help please
Yes I would but you really have until February 2007. Before EB/GS merged they were selling 12 month warranties. (3 months/MS +12 months/EB = 15 months).Ok, so I bought an Xbox 360 at launch last year from EB Games. I got the 1 year warranty and it is expiring on Wednesday. Also remember your warranty is with the insurance company not EB/GS. Check with EB just to make sure. It does sound like your system is dying. -

No, I got the warranty from EB, not MS. I don't know if that makes a difference.Yes I would but you really have until February 2007. Before EB/GS merged they were selling 12 month warranties. (3 months/MS +12 months/EB = 15 months).

I just don't want to be screwed if my system breaks after the warranty expires.
Are the new 360's dying that much?Comment

Re: 360 Warranty help please
My 2 cents is you should defintely get a newer one and renew your warranty. IMO there are less issues with the new batches. My new one doesn't run hot at all like the first one I bought. Take advantage of the system.Formerly Favre4vrComment

The red lights are a sign of things to come, especially with a launch unit. If you have the ability take it back for a new one and still extend the warranty. Its a no-brainer.Comment

Re: 360 Warranty help please
I was referring to the EB warranty. Check your warranty because you probably were sold a 15 month warranty. My boys at EB have told me my launch day 360 is covered till 2/20/07.Comment

Re: 360 Warranty help please
I have a 360 warranty question, but I didn't feel like it warranted its own thread. This pertains to the Microsoft warranty.
On my service contract invoice, it gives me two options to pay.
The first option is a check or money order payable to Xbox 360 for $59.90. There is another option for delaying payment by charging $49.90 on a credit card.
On the left side of this statement it has a big bubble that says "Yes! I want to receive 2 full years of protection.......... for only $59.90."
Do you think the $49.90 under the credit card payment option was just an innocent misprint? Or is it actually $10 less to pay for it using my credit card? Has anyone who got the MS warranty actually been charged $49.90 by using a card???
Help would be appreciated.Favorite Teams:

Just had to bump this, does anyone know if the $49.90 credit card option on the MS warranty an innocent mistake? Or has no one used a CC for a MS warranty?I have a 360 warranty question, but I didn't feel like it warranted its own thread. This pertains to the Microsoft warranty.

Re: 360 Warranty help please
same situation for me, i returned mine today. they told me to just bring in what i wanted to return, so i kept my hard drive. all i took in was the unit and the power brick and cable. it was smooth. they did say that the warranty period overlaps and so i was lucky to get it done today. i bought another 1 year warranty and it was $40. i told them they should just offer to extend the warranty 1 year for $40 but they said you had to swap out. no biggie, i think i'll just do this every year for as long as i have a 360....Ok, so I bought an Xbox 360 at launch last year from EB Games. Re: 360 Warranty help please
I just rechecked my EB extended warranty I bought at launch. CPS of Florida handles the warranty claims. It states that my warranty starts the day Microsoft's 90 day warranty ends and i'm covered for one full year after the MS's 90 warranty is over. So I'm getting a total of 15th months of coverage.
Things have changed recently with the GS/EB merger. Now their warranty is only for 1 year total.Comment
