Fatal Interia and Bladestorm go Multiplatform

Very Interesting news, if this has been discussed before please delete.

Koei and From Software Go Multi

Microsoft today announced that Koei and From Software have confirmed three of their titles for release on the Xbox 360 next Spring in Japan. Armored Core 4 had already been announced for Xbox 360, but has been missing in action recently with so much focus on the upcoming PS3 release on December 14. The other two titles, Fatal Inertia and BladeStorm, were both announced some time ago for the PS3, but have now been announced for the 360 too. There were murmurings of this happening around Tokyo Game Show, but many shrugged it off as a baseless rumour.

With the higher budget requirements this generation, more and more small publishers are dropping their platform discrimination in favor of keeping their potential audience as large as possible. Will we ever see the big guns following suit? Wishful thinking, perhaps, but it can't be ruled out at this stage.

    Sweet.

I've been wanting a next-gen futuristic racer. Last good one I played was XGRA.

My favorite was the one before XGRA and Wipeout Fusion.

Loved that one too...I'm a real sucker for futuristic environments. I am dying to play Mass Effect. DYING!

What was the name of the game Acclaim did before XGRA? Was it called Extreme G Racing? It came out for the PS2 sometime late in 2001 I think.

Oh Acclaim? Yeah, I think it was Extreme G, as a matter of fact I'm almost positive. I believe it was on the N64.

I dunno who made QR for XBox, but that one was pretty good too.

Just imagine a futuristic city sandbox game with Fatal Inertia as the driving engine. I might pass out.

In a humorous turn of events, Fatal Inertia has been indefinitely delayed for the PS3, but given a firm date for the 360.

I read that too and it was once a PS3 launch title. :y4:

Re: Fatal Interia and Bladestorm go Multiplatform

360's ease of development is stealing one of Sony's biggest advantages from the last go round...tons of c-list titles falling off retail shelves. Fatal Inertia may not be great, or even good, but it's yet another niche title wall-stuffer, and having tons of solid games will be huge once the mainstream finally gets around to jumping into next-gen.

By Xmas 08, the 360 is going to have a ridiculous ammount of 20-30 dollar pre-owned titles and much better variety than the XBox ever did...

That's the same camp Sony was in with the PS1 and PS2. Thanks to Ken Katuragi they pissed it all away.

Now all the 360 needs are those obscure japanese rpg's and they'll be set.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

I'm guessing so, I don't know the names of any obscure japanese rpgs I just remember seeing them all the time on g4 and being reviewed in magazines.
