What is gained by being told something is not in stock when in fact it is. If plans are to sell on a certain day, then tell me so I don't waste my time. Next time I will asked the employee if they are a Christian/Religous and maybe I will get a honest answer. Shame that trying to buy a Video system has resorted to dishonest tactics.

Employees Lying!!!!
I just can't believe Companies are having their Employees lying about Wii's and PS3's. As a buying customer spending hard earned money I would at least expect honesty when I take the time to call or drive to an establishment.

Re: Employees Lying!!!!
Yeah, I wanted to say something when I called Best Buy...but I didn't. I should go down there and give them a piece of my mind. In the end, though....I'm the consumer, so it's my choice to care and actually WANT the system. -

Re: Employees Lying!!!!
That's a weird date for a second launch, isn't it? The 6th is a Wednesday.Comment

Re: Employees Lying!!!!
Supply and Demand is pretty basic, but, why can't they just put them on the shelves when they get them? How many people are they going to attract on a Wednesday night at midnight? If they don't get their system of choice do you think they'll buy a 360? I can see if it is in a circular that they'll have some at this date (like target, best buy, Sunday), that is one thing, but it's like Walmart got a second shipment and after the fact decided to hold off for another release party or something...
I don't get it..Comment

Re: Employees Lying!!!!
I'm confused. What does supply and demand have to do with being honest to your consumer? Just tell the loyal customer that we can't sell them until say Sunday. But to just outright lie. Thats BS!!! Thank the good Lord I do not work for a Co. like these. I refuse to lie to anyone when people who basically make it possible for me to earn a paycheck!!!! I would just rather not know than to lie to people, which is something I refuse to do.Last edited by Flightwhite24; 11-29-2006, 05:50 PM.The poster formerly know as "FLIGHTWHITE"Comment

Re: Employees Lying!!!!
Having a "second launch" benefits most customers IMO. If they put the products on the shelves the day they arrive they will be sold to the first X number of random people who walk in and want a system. By planning a specificed time and date to sell them all at once, you give everybody who is paying attention the chance put in as much effort as they want to get one of the systems. People who want it the most and have the most time to devote towards that will get the system the 6th at midnight, as opposed to selling to random people who happen to walk into the electronics section at the exact right time. I think MOST people would prefer to know the date they will go on sale ahead of time so they can plan ahead, rather than leaving it up to complete chance.
That and if the line of people waiting on December 5th buys even $1 worth of food/drink from Wal-Mart while waiting, Wal-Mart just made extra money, can't fault them for that.Comment

Re: Employees Lying!!!!
I know a second launch is beneficial, however the problem is lying to consumers saying that they have no idea about next shipment when in reality, all they're doing is stockpiling their shipments. At least tell us so we can plan accordingly.Comment

Re: Employees Lying!!!!
Yeah, good point, I agree about this. I would think that since they are stockpiling them they would be more than willing to announce teh 2nd launch date to get as many people there as possible. Or maybe they don't want any problems so they are trying to keep it quiet and are figuring enough people will hear about it online to sell all of the systems. I don't really know, Wal-Mart does some weird things sometimes.Comment
