    Re: Employees Lying!!!!

I believe it is illegal. What I don't get about it is what the heck does it matter whether they sell them on wed or sunday????

They can hold product but only if it's a special sale. Like Lowes we couldn't sell pallets of product due to black friday. However with that said it's not like we told customers they couldn't buy a skil saw!!!

a staggered launch (one where supply trickles in) is much more beneficial to the consumer...let's put it this way...which would you rather do, check the store at the time they receive their shipment, or camp outside in the cold overnight?

Retailers can put (or not put) whatever they want on their shelves.

I agree with you, some stores are doing this which is a crock of **** if you ask me. I'm ok with a second or third launch, but they should say something to customers that we will have more on this date at this time. Not this crap that they don't have any and they don't know when their getting them in, blah, blah, blah.

I'd rather have a second launch with stockpiled systems. Putting the units on the shelf whenever they arrive(or more percisely, whenever the employees get around to it after they arrive) is a complete crapshoot. Short of knowing some inside information about when shipments arrive and then somehow knowing when they will be put on the shelves, there is no way to make sure you get one. They will sell to whoever happens to be lucky enough to walk in as they are stocking them.

With a launch you know when they are going on sale and you can assure yourself of getting one if you really want to.

Of course everyone would love to walk into Wal-Mart tomorrow and see the guy stocking a new shipment of PS3s, but overall I think the chances of getting one are greater if they hold a 2nd launch.

                  Re: Employees Lying!!!!

It's not about them stockpiling for 2nd/3rd launch, for me it's the dishonest response that I get when I ask a question. That's what this post was about for me. Knowingly being untruthful. I can't stomach the fact that upper Management are having employees to lie when asked about a particular product. If it was me I would tell the higher ups that I am not going to lie for them. I rather work for someone who is honest than someone who is full of #$%$#.

I fully understand where you are coming from with people being honest as I feel the same way. But, and yes this there is a but; Good luck on working for someone honest as today's corporate world is filled with liars and coruption. I work for one of the largest textbook publishers in the world, and I see all kinds of crap all the time with upper mgmt bull****ting. I have friends that work at places like Best Buy and EB/Gamestop, and it's the same **** with their upper mgmt. as we are talking about here. The point I'm trying to make is that you will have a hard time trying to find managers that are honest.

As a recieving guy at cc I honestly tell customers the truth when they ask because I really don't know. However a customer came in the store 2day and said he heard on the radio that circuit city would have wiis in stock this saturday. Don't ask managers cuz they won't tell you. In my case you ask & i'll tell you.
