Looks like a PS2 exclusive..but maybe it will be backwards compatible w/ PS3.
Anyways, gave the game a test and it felt really smooth. As good as Tekken 5 to me in many ways...and a large improvement over its KOF Impact predecessor. Anyone else give this game a try?
IGN had a ton of coverage for it but strangely didn't review it. Gamestop gave it a 7.3...I give it an 8. If it had a better story mode then an 8.5 for me. Plenty of fighters, outfits and arenas in the game...as well as cool challenge (destry the tank, etc.) and handicap modes.
The combos and skills of the fighters are particullarly interesting. Some of the fighting styles remind me of "superpowers" like Xmen would have. For instance, one girl controls ice, another guy controls fire and one girl calls for a spaceship to send down a beam of light as weapon. Also, the action is very fast and the graphics are good as the last Tekken 5. The game is very colorful/explosive. The arenas are not multi-tiered and there are no items laying arouind you can pick up as weapons, but the environments do take on damage as you fight around the arena.
I'd say pick it up if your itching 4 a new fighter. Only $30 bucks and pretty interesting.
