Pretty damn good article if you are into the technical details of both the ps3 and 360.

Re: Article: End all arguments: PS3 vs 360
I haven't finished reading it, but here's the blockbuster quote for me thus far:
"The only cause for concern would be the 512KB L2 cache being shared by 7 simultaneous running SPE and a PPE, but that’s what developers are for; they work around things like this. In practice, this should allow PS3 games to potentially have more things going on at once than 360 games. Ignoring the difficulties of programming for the PS3 CPU, it should be known that the PS3’s CPU is very good when it comes to vertex-related operations because the PS3’s CPU handles graphics code better than the 360’s CPU. It is also possible that through good parallelism of physics code on the SPE that physics code could also run better on the PS3 CPU due to the concurrency advantage.
The 360 CPU however, due to its 3 symmetric General Purpose Cores, is not only much easier to program for than the cell, but having 3 PPE capable of handling things such as AI also means the 360’s CPU will be the better of the 2 CPUs when it comes to AI code. Either way we can look forward to great things from both CPUs in the future."
Very interesting.
There's talk of exclusives becoming a thing of the past, but all three consoles need them to really focus on the individual strengths of each. Otherwise, developers like EA and Activision will barely let you know which version is which. God of War 3, Halo 3, and Gears of War 2 on the other hand are games I hope really show off the true power of the PS3 and 360.
Good find, despite starting to think I've read a lot of this info before.D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. Sean Taylor (1983-2007), a True Cane -

LOL, after page 7, my head was swimming.
Ouch at the article stating the 360 can graphically outperform the PS3 in 1080p.
Also, Sony seems kind of gullible to be baited by early 360 specs.
The turnout of this war will be interesting, but here's hope that the games will be moreso.D E S E R V E_V I C T O R YR.I.P. Sean Taylor (1983-2007), a True CaneComment

The same can be said for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The only intangible that's in favor for the PS3 is the HUGE fan base who still think the PS3 is the best and more powerful of the two.
I like how the article basically stated that both machines are capable of some amazing games never before seen as "Heavenly Sword" for the PS3 was mentioned as one of those games.Comment

Re: Article: End all arguments: PS3 vs 360
I love my 360, but I sure do wish MS had made the DVD drive a HD-DVD drive for the simple reason of storage. Even if the games as of right now do not require that, atleast you would know it is there in case. I wonder if MS can make games that play through the HD-DVD add-on. I read about 8 pages of the article and kinda came to the conclusion that "IN THEORY" the PS3 COULD be the more powerful of the 2, but not by much and is it really worth the extra $$?

After reading some of that, I hope that more exclusives appear for all 3 consoles as there is no way that a 3rd party that's making cross platform games will be willing to take advantage of the power.Comment

What's so great about this article is the emphasis on what these systems can do for games, not digital media or other periphials.
Now, for the 3rd party developer who is already spread thin, which would you think they poor their resources into? Do these developers have time to master both systems to peak all their games to each specific system? I doubt it.
It goes to show you how strategic these companies are in making these machines. MS's decision to offer a powerful machine that's easier to work with may in fact pay off.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment
