No, I don't believe so. A lot of people had launch unit's die, it's a fact.

Don't even get me started about how many machines I have had since launch. I think I finally have a good one, but a long letter is being prepared for MS (with a lot of receipt copies).

Launch 360. Worked without a hitch although I got an error message yesterday on the screen, restarted the console, and its worked fine since.

My 11/30/05 console died last week, oddly enough on 11/30/06. I'm not sure if it was a launch unit but it did come with the remote. I have been gaming nearly 30 years and have never had any problems with any console. My brother's launch console lasted 6 weeks before it died. Microsoft needs to do something. The failure rates and longevity of the 360 is appalling. To those with working launch units, congrats. i sent mine off a few days ago and am dreading what Microsoft sends me back in return, probably a refurb that is in worse shape than my original. I'm petty bitter about this and might get out of gaming if this continues.
