    I need help with Ebay

    Ok, here is the deal..

I posted an auction for a xbox with 83 games and started the bidding at 300 bucks.

This auction cost me about 20 bucks or so to post with the gallery, pics, etc etc. Well the auction was won and a bidder contacted me. Turns out that a few grammatical errors in his paypal email etc looked funny, so I contact paypal and email them at [email protected]. It was fraudulent, thank goodness I didnt ship the item. But posting the auction still cost me 20....

So couple day later I list a 360 with 6 games for 350. Cost is about 20 bucks again for posting the auction. WInning bid was placed for 380. I have tried to contact the bidder now for 2 days and no response. Finally I got a response this morning saying that he didnt realize I had 0 feedback and was worried about getting screwed....so he dont want item now.

So far, for 2 auctions I have paid 40 bucks or so to post, had 2 winning bids, and have not only tried to be scammed, but had a bidder back out. This **** is expensive. How do I protect myself? I dont feel it fair that I have had 40 bucks come out of my paypal to list auctions, and yet each time, even though winning bid was placed, I get no money.

What can I do? Where can I go to post an auction where its safe and wont cost me so much even when fraud and deception are involved?

    THank you much !

There's always the option of offering the item to the 2nd highest bidder. I've done that before...and have had success doing so. I'd try that as my next step before doing anything else.

Very simple. File the necessary non paying bidder forms with ebay and your account will be credited.

I would suggest to continually watch your auctions the last 24 hours or so and cancel any bid you feel may not follow through.

Ebay is safe. Just pay attention to what is going on and you can avoid problems 95% of the time.

They won't credit his listing fees though. They only credit final value fees whan a bidder doesn't pay.

I assume he is just going to relist it so it won't matter in the end. He won't lose anything.

They allow him to relist the item though, so it doesn't really matter.

For some reason, none of the graphics and logos show up on here. But here is a copy of what I got in my inbox that turned out to be fraudulent. If there hadnt been a few errors in it, I would probably have lost my 360 and 6 games due to fraud.

Aside from obvious grammar and spelling errors appearing in every sentence.

Mistake one: Paypal always uses your real name.

Also, Paypal NEVER asks for anything through email.

More so, there is no service that requires a tracking number before your account is credited.

Glad you aren't one of the stupid ones that falls for this every day.
