No longer a sports gamer...

[WTF]

Figure this is as good of a place to put this as any, but after my dreaded battles trying to play College Hoops and NBA 2k7, I have quit playing Sports games for this season. I can't get through ANY freaking 2k game without a DDE... and it finally took its toll on me.

I am now a strictly non-sports gaming guy... when I have time to play anyway.

I have R6 Vegas... and am picking up Viva Pinata... anything else you all can recommend?

Gears of War is freakin amazing on Hardcore with a buddy on coop. One of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Also Oblivion is mind blowingly good. Very cool stuff.

Yeah, forgot to mention Oblivion... I'll be picking it up this week as well. For some reason though, i have NO desire to pick up Gears. I don't know what it is man, but something just doesn't click w/ me on that game. I don't know.

I said exactly the same thing Will until I saw the game in action in HD and I had that stupid look on my face for 30 minutes. The game is worth the hype IMO.

Gears is OK if you like that kinda pace, but ever since RB6 came out, nobody plays Gears anymore (at least on my friends list ).

Yeah, DDE's EVERY game... don't matter which 2k disc I use... and I've even sent my 360 back for repair, to no avail. I don't know what the deal is candyman...

I may pick up Gears on down the road, but if we can keep the core group of guys playing R6, that played GRAW, then I'll stick w/ it for my online needs. I'm having a blast playing with Ohio, Coffey, Bologna, Cyros and the fellas...

:y4: Between the calling me What the F*** (WTF is my initials, lol) and the constant usage of GD... everything else was cool... it was fun making fun of BigUps in a duel from 2' away from each other. That, and the always lovely Garr going on his teamkilling spree.

u might want to get 18004myxbox on the phone for a replacement or checkup(if possible) on your system. NBA 2k6 caused this on my first 360 after update and then gave me red rings of death. 2nd refurbished xbox 360 with a used copy of NBA 2k6 cause 3 red rings of death after dashboard update. 3rd 360 cd/dvd drive motor spins too much and wont read anything(thankfully NBA 2k7 didnt do this.

If you haven't exhausted all trouble shooting options(new copy of 2k7, tried your copy on someones 360, clear HDD cache(heard it helps for some), formated drive (heard it helps for some), can't think of anymore at the moment). In the end some DDE errors are not because of the CD itself but software/hardware conflicts.

Wow, your situation with College Hoops and NBA 2K7 sounds nearly identical to mine.

I've been having a good time with GOW, Rainbow Six Vegas and Saints Row in place of my annual basketball video game fix.

Have you cleaned your disk really good? I noticed that if there is anything on the disk you will get freezing and DDE.

I don't know you, but Gears of War is amazing. The multiplayer (especially with friends) is beyond belief. Taking people apart with the shotgun, chainsawing them, etc. is just a blast. And the graphics are gorgeous.

And your 360 is probably going to need replacing at some point (had the same problem and then it went, quietly into the night...)
