    PS3 HOW TO

For those who are interested, I found these steps too work through a little process. Althought directions look long, the process it quite quick and simple. I use madden rosters as an example, but in the first how to, it can be done with any file.

    File sharing for the PS3
    PS3 Direction

    1. Make sure you have inserted your USB 2.0 flash drive
    2. On the cross media bar (XMB) go to the “GAME” section
    3. In game menu select “Saved Data Utility”
    4. Scroll to your roster save and press triangle a sub menu pops up
    5. In the sub menu select “Copy”
    6. Select destination window pops up, highlight your flash drive and press “X.

Your rosters are now saved on your flash drive. The PS3 will create a PS3 folder for you, keep this folder for future transactions, it looks like this on your PC. F:\PS3\SAVEDATA\BLUS30014-ROSTERS the drive letter will change depended upon your set up. Your PC will recognize it as a removable drive. The rosters are in the SAVEDATA folder; this is where you will retrieve your rosters. The roster file has 4 files within the folder, they are as follows: IN THE BLUS30014-ROSTERS

    1. HED-DATA 8bytes
    2. PARAM.PFD 32KB
    3. PARAM.SFO 2.67KB
    4. USR-DATA 480KB

    PC DIRECTIONS

    1. Insert your flash drive in available USB slot.
    2. Dbl click on “MY COMPUTER”
    3. Dbl click on removable F: drive (remember depended upon set up drive letter changes)
    4. Dbl click on PS3
    5. Dbl click on SAVEDATA
    6. Drag and drop roster file on your desktop.
    7. Open your email and select new mail and chose that you are sending it too.
    8. Attach each file individually. The ones up above. I’m assuming you guys know how to do this already, attach files I mean.
    9. Once you receive the email, save the attachments into your “SAVEDATA” folder on your flash drive. Again don’t delete the Folder the PS3 creates for you on the flash drive.

Now unplug your removable drive, insert the flash drive in your PS3.

    1. Go to the “GAME” menu
    2. Select “Save Data Utility”
    3. Highlight your USB Flash Drive
    4. Press “X”
    5. Press Triangle sub-menu pops up and then you select copy. Your files are now loaded onto your PS3

The file can also be added to your thread via Win Zip.

    Re: PS3 HOW TO

IPOD directions for downloading from IPOD at first glance it was stated you couldn't do it, but I found away.

    IPOD

1: Plug you Ipod into your PS3.

2: Go to the music section and scroll down to USB Device (Ipod)

3: Press triangle then click displays all.

4: Click Ipod Central then waits a second until you see music.

5: Press Music then you will see F00 proceeding by F01 and onward.

6: Now click F00 and you will see a list of songs.

7: Now scroll over the song you wish to download and click triangle.

8: Now a menu will come up. Press copy.

9: Now your song will download to your PS3. This should take less then 3 seconds.

10: Now press circle and proceed to do the same for the rest of the songs you wish to download.

11: When done click circle until you are back at the main music section.

12: Disconnect your Ipod and you will see all of the song listed by albums.

The only thing that sucks about doing it this way is that you can only download one song at a time, which can take a while if you have 500 songs like me. I bet Sony did this on purpose so that you wouldn’t take up your whole hard drive if you have a 30 gb Video like me. You can speed it up by downloading the whole folder or multiple songs from the same folder.

For example: While scrolling over F00 or any other folder press triangle then click copy and it should download everything in that folder or (my favorite) while scrolled over a song in the folder press triangle and then press up. You should see (copy multiple). Click it and select the songs you wish to download from that folder then click (OK). You should be good to go.

If you want to download your videos all you have to do if follow these same directions. Even direction #'s 4 and 5. (You have to click music) wierd I know. When you go into the folder and select the video watch it to make sure you know which video it is first. With mine the names were all messed up.

If you wish you can sort everything by artist. To do this you must scroll over one of the albums (any one) then click triangle and press up. You should be scrolled over (Group Content) if you are then press right and click which option you choose to search your music under. Press X and you should be good to go. The same should be good for videos. Except it should say (sort by) instead.

If you wish to edit the information that the song/video has posted then scroll over the song you wish to edit then click triangle then scroll down till you see (information). Click it and scroll down each item and press X to edit that information.

good place to ask this question I suppose...

Anyone know of a way to take a PS2 game save from a memory card and convert it over to the PS3 without having to buy the adapter? I've got a Max Drive but how can you convert it from a .max format to the .psv format? I really hope I dont have to buy the adapter for a one time use.

Here's what I did. It's not the best solution but it should work if you have all your files ready.

Buy the memory card adapter from ebgames or gamestop (or anywhere that has a return policy on opened accessories).

Transfer all your files after carefully opening the box.

Put it back in the box and return it to ebgames or gamestop and they will put the money back on your account. I even had a big tear in my box but they still took it back.

Still too much hassle for me. I can spare the $15... thats not it, I just don't want to have to buy it since its not entirely necessary, especially when I already have a device that can get it onto a PC. The trick is just unpacking it... surely someone has/will come up with a way.

              Very good thread.

Just to confirm, can transfer protected iTunes music from my iPod or only unprotected mp3's?

                This is great stuff, thanks...

Also, do you know anyone on the site or other sites that are taking advantage of the PS3 rosters? Such as baseball, football, mlb saves? thanks...
