    Oblivion Sequel WIshlist

Since we always have these for the sports games I thought it might be a good idea for Oblivion.

Here are some of my wishes:

    1) More monster variety: Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter and many others have a wide variety of creative monsters. Oblivion seemed to lack that. I would love to see a greater variety of creatures.

    2) Bigger monsters: I don't know why there aren't bigger monsters in the Elder Scroll series. How about some more dragons, cyclops or sea monsters? Show the big guys some love.

    3) When you discover a dungeon off the beaten path put some darn cool treasure in it. I really hated exploring a mine or dungeon that I discovered while wandering, only to have nothing special in it. I would have liked some rare items guarded by a big monster or a den of thieves actually protecting a decent treasure.

    4) Add some kind of social structure like Fable. It would be cool if you could get married or make a good friends with someone who would travel with you.

    5) Have your actions effect the world around you in a bigger way. I closed the d$#@ gates let it be recognized. As a matter of fact even in towns where I did great deeds no one really knew. It would be nice for people to have more recognition of you as a champion or darth vader type guy.

    Other thoughts?

There won't be a sequal to Oblivion for about 4-5 years.

And the biggest thing they need to do is get rid of voice acting and go back to text. It was a lot better having more than 1 option when talking to people.

Was voice acting first added in Morrowind then?

I'd also like a larger variety of towns... seemingly every one was the same in Oblivion. It just really didn't feel like different places, other than the houses were a tad different.

Also, want the different Planes of Oblivion to be different inside. Those portals were all the same. I want some difference.

More unique items that are only found through deep cave pillaging, etc.

Ahh yes....it would be nice to have some variation in the towns and houses.

As for the voice acting, I liked it. What didn't some of you like about it?

I personally liked it, but it did severly hinder the choices that the plot could take. I think people want more variation in the dialogue. I can understand that, but I'd prefer the voice acting.

I really want some special type weaponry. But definately variation in the towns and landscapes. Seemingly everywhere was the same. I mean, there was a little bit of variation, but not nearly enough for my liking.

I created the Mighty Thor in the game and I kept looking for a special hammer in the dungeons, but never found one.

Yeah, the weaponry all seemed pretty similiar. I mean, some of them looked a little different, but altogether, there really wasn't a whole lot of variety. Hopefully they'll have a lot of different special/unique items.

Also, I too want some larger monsters/bosses.

Some different enchantments would be nice too.

Ideally, take Morrowind's openness (in terms of choices and options) with Oblivion's far superior gameplay and you'd have a damn nice game. Morrowind and Oblivion were both great games, but each was missing something to make it a top game.

And a better loot system. I enjoy the random loot, but there needs to be some elite dungeons with top loot at any level. I hated how some dungeons would have nothing (literally) and then the next one would have 10 super weapons.
